My Arizona Team

I just wanted a make a thread and throw some of the interesting things (to me) and oddities I come across playing as the Diamondbacks.

I started them in 2017 (on OOTP 18, then imported to 19) and I am on year 2. I play game by game, all 162. Won the World Series last year as a wild card, which was cool!!

So, without further adeu, here's a weird one from last night: Cahill was throwing a no-hitter until it was broken up with a 2 run double. Here's the pitching line: 9 walks!!

On a good note, Greinke goes the distance throwing only 102 pitches.

Brutal loss to Phils. 6 HR allowed. Yikes!!

I do find it odd that Godley only has a 57 stamina. He's certainly not a 4-5 innings type of pitcher. Games like this, he doesn't have to worry about a pitch count!

So, it looks like a dogfight for me and a wildcard but looking at this team I ask myself "why am I in last?" A .240 team BA could be one thing. Pitching looks good but I give up a TON of home runs. Lots of 1st inning runs as well. Godley has surrendered 18 in 94 innings...12 of them between innings 1-3!!

Lots of underachievers even though I had 4 All Star starters.

Opinions welcomed on how to fix this.

Tonight Zack Greinke did his best Jack Morris impression and pitched 10 innings and got the win to sweep San Francisco. He gave up a 2 run homer with 2 outs in the 9th to lose the shutout and the lead, but really wanted that W, so he gutted it out, and Socrates Brito came through with a hit to scroe a run in the 11th. Archie Bradley got the save.

So, for reasons unknown to me, the game crashed in the middle of a game. I was in the 6th inning winning 2-0. My new acquisition Carlos Martinez was cruising along. After the crash, I replayed the game...it didn't go the way I wanted it to.
