Walkers news: Sept. 28 -- St. Louis 7, Kansas City 6

Record: 96-65, 1st, 8 GA Des Moines

St. Louis cranked out back-to-back-to-back homers off Kansas City starter Dinelson Lamet -- Rhys Hoskins, Michael Conforto and Nicky Delmonico providing the power -- and the River Walkers held on for a 7-6 win at Kansas City Municipal Stadium.
The three homers had St. Louis in front 5-1, and it would later stand at 7-4.

The Pit Masters would gradually chip into that lead.
A Joey Gallo homer off Jerry Blevins in the bottom of the sixth -- there were seven long-balls total in the game -- made it 7-5.
Jake Cave greeted reliever Andrew Miller with a home run to start the bottom of the ninth.

But John Curtiss came on to retire three straight -- including a pair of strikes -- to seal the win.
