WINDOWS 7 and OOTP

My son wants to update me to windows 7. But of course I'm not interested if it will disturb OOTP. Thank you in advance for your input....Rick

I may be getting this shortly too. Someone must have tried it on the beta versions of Win7. Can anyone help?

There is a member in the GUBA who just installed OOTPX on the release version of Windows 7.

Just install and run as administrator, much like Vista.

He has had no trouble running the game.

I have been running Windows 7 for a few months now, and I have no problems with OOTPX.

I've got OOTPX on a Windows 7 installation, and it works fine. Keep in mind that some people couldn't even get the game to run on Vista, but some people can get a car stuck in a tree fifty feet off of the ground, too.

Yeah, same. I have the 64-bit version so I can verify it works with that as well. 7 is great.

To everyone who responded, thanks for the info. I will let my son install windows 7 when he comes over then. I am always afraid any new program may interfer with my OOTP. Being disabled I play everyday and would be really disappointed not to mention bored....Thanks again everyone...

I have read that in the most cases of a Windows 7-Game -Probleme the reason is the copy protection or a driver for copy protection. But i am not an expert.

Yes, I'm running Win7 64-bit, and OOTPX runs fine.

Run it with a solid state drive, and it really screams, too!

This is OT, but I find the alien pancake thing interesting because I vacationed near Eagle River most of the 24 years of my life.

I struggled to get OOTPX working in Win 7 but after messing with the whole runservice.exe/admin priv stuff *and* locating and installing a missing .DLL OOTPX needed, it ran.

Then last night it stopped working. I'm still trying to figure out what happened.

Well, I've resorted to going back to my initial installation Restore Point. The first program I'm going to install is OOTPX. Let's see what happens.
