Arbitration Eligible?

5 years ago, I had a fantastic International free agent sign a 10-year deal Worth close to $300m. He had a Player Opt Out after 5 years which he just chose to execute. I received the email stating that he was going to test free agency.

Unfortunately for him he did not get to test free agency. He wound up being on my arbitration list, where he was granted the amount of just over $28M, which is almost 2 million dollars less than he was guaranteed to get.

On top of that, he cancelled out years 7 through 10, where at age 39 he would have been garunteed to get paid $25M. I don't know if he should have been arbitration-eligible, and obviously he made a very stupid decision. Either way I think this is a bug.
