Gambo or Spritz will the new DB's work with 13? I am guessing yes but wanted to be sure.

Ok, based upon my understanding...
OOTP 12 - Any db with an ODB file or a properly-formatted set of csv files can be used... This is based upon my experience with v12. OOTP 13 - Only a ODB db can be used... This is based upon info in this thread http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...itze-s-db.html, and this one http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...e-gambo-2.html. OOTP 14 - Same as v12. Meaning, in my case, where I have created my own db (a set of csv files; IIRC, I wanted a combo of neutralized players importing to their original teams at the time of their MLB debut, but also wanted Negro leaguers a bunch of career minor leaguers; something like that), I will have no problem... This is based upon Gambo's reply in this thread, immediately above... So on this I just wanted to clarify that the modded db that I use in v12 - which does not include an ODB file - should work if I convert to v14 (and I should also have no problems with the interim step of converting to v13 before immediately converting the v14). Sorry to beat on this poor dead horse, but I just wanted to be clear for my and anyone else's benefit ;-) Thanks |

12, 13 and 14 all use the same CSV file formats so db's are interchangeably interchangeable.
ODB's are not interchangeable and generally can be removed.

So if a player only played 10 seasons and was really good in all 10, retired at 32, and you import him using "career totals" how would their potential compare to a similar player who played 20 seasons and has much higher overall stat totals? would they be rated similar or would the player with higher overall stat totals be rated higher? I guess I am wondering how OOTP view "career totals", do they look at it as per season or just flat out the higher the stat totals the better the potential will be? |

Love these since I prefer starting in older seasons
However, seems like all the historical rookies come in ready for at least AA which kind of makes R & A pointless (& makes good veterans secondary options when they shouldn't be). Is this something I can alter with the player creation modifiers? |

Error in DB
Was just perusing players for a trade when I noticed Kiki Cuyler listed as born in Harrisville, UT. Actually, Harrisville is in Northern Michigan, about 80 miles from me. You can still have dinner at Cuyler's restaurant there, though since the slamon are no longer planted there, it isn't the destination it once was.

For the Spritze db's it is the Lahman master.csv file.

Can't load Spritze DB into game
This is embarrassing, because I know I've gotten this right before, but...I'm trying to start a historical fictional game starting in 1871, but I can't seem to get the new Spritze DB going properly. I set up the game, point it to the correct db (NOT the one in the stats folder), and instead of the expanded group of players, I get the standard 115 guys who actually played in the NA that year.
Li'l help?

Did you remove the .odb file first?

Remove it from where, the 'Spritze for OOTP14' file or someplace else?

The Spritze db comes with it's own ODB file so you don't need to remove it unless you'd like to.
There is an odb file in the stats folder that comes with the game. I believe that is the one the posterizer is referring to.

Why would I need to remove the .odb file from the stats folder if I'm not pointing to game to the stats folder in the first place?

Spritze:
I just started 1928 and for the game only imported 14 players for the draft pool. I have OOTP14 and I am using your High School DB. What I am doing wrong? Thanks, Jeff

So here is what I'm trying to do....
Import players that are in the HOF maybe 1-2 per year in my fictional league. I'm importing most okay, however, when it comes to Satchel Paige or other players from the Negro Leagues I'm having trouble with their identifier. If I type in his baseball reference id it says failed. What am I doing wrong? |

Lahman ID not B-R ID
Look in the Master.csv for the ID's
