Question about where athletes live

I've had a question in my mind and never thought to ask. You guys are pretty knowledgeable about the sports world so I'll ask you....when ballplayers sign say 1 year deals with a team, where do they live? Do the teams put them up for a year in a hotel suite? Pay rent for a year in a nice home? I know many athletes live year round in a different place then the teams they play for, but what happens when they have short contracts?

Definitely apartments. My friend used to live in a nice apartment complex in Philly and she said a few Eagles players lived there.

Rental Condos are ubiquitous in most cities. I'd guess they make up a high percentage of both long term and short term deals.

Occasionally, traded players have temporarily swapped houses.

Back in the 60's, many of the Packer players lived together in an apartment complex located across the street from the team offices. The club subsidized the rent on these apartments so the players would have more spending money. Most of the married players rented out houses in the Green Bay area and as did some who lived in the city during the off-season. Don't know what they do now. What I posted is what a former Packer player of that era told me.
