i have seen statistical analysis on this based on perfect league results in 19 and 20.

but you are welcome to believe that it is important. its what makes the game great. you have your beliefs and I have mine.
It would be nice to hear from a dev on this though. You could think of a 1B with better turn dp rating as being better at holding the first base bag or being better at preventing wild throws or better at scooping to save the other infielders from making errors. I'm not saying it does work like that, but I'm not sure the rating is narrowly defined as just being the pivot man in a double play turn either.

I haven't seen any analysis on this and I think that's because most people don't really care about this rating unless it's for a middle infielder.

An imaginary 6 foot 3 (190cm) 1B with 100 range, arm and error with 0 Turn DP has a 1B defense rating of 107. An imaginary 6 foot 3 (190cm) 1B with 100 in every stat has a 112 1B rating

The fact is, live cards are a total joke. They never perform as well as all the other non-live cards, and I have tested that over and over. I won't even buy a live card anymore. They may have a good season here and there, but as a whole they are worthless unless you are in iron or bronze.
