Any Other Skins Coming?

Maybe it's just being year older, but I find all three of these skins a bit tough on the eyes.

Any others forthcoming be they modded or official?

I have not heard a word about any more official skins. The classic skin was finalized at the very last minute. I imagine any more skins would be mod community based.

I'm not sure they are easily creatable now?

I'm sure with the skin files available, banners, headers, icons, background images, etc... (even the trophy) can be edited or replaced, but as for the natural skin textures, colors, etc.. they're part of the skin.bin and cannot be altered to the best of knowledge.

There is a program someone posted about last year that unpacked them I believe?

I also find the new skins harder on my eyes. I think some of the print is smaller. I'm usually a dark skin but I switched to classic and that has helped. I have also lowered my rating scale to "1 to 10". Overall I like the new graphics.

Yup. Print seems smaller/thinner in some areas.

I agree. I'm likely going back to OOTP12 just so I can use my old classic woodgrain skin.

I'm definitely not nuts about the three new skins - all seem to make my eyes bleed and definitely take away from the immersion.

Have user-created skins been developed in the past? If so, what would be the best place to find them online?

The skins seem to be stored as a .bin

Not sure yet where the files are located that can be changed aside from the font. That is the only thing I have changed (the new font looked too sloppy to me, so I swapped it with OOTP12's font)

Have you seen any of the overlapping issues that Markus said you might see?

I find all of the 3 skins so dark & gloomy. I certainly like the new features of OOTP-13 but, for me, the skins are a step backward.

I always enjoyed the Classic skins of previous versions because they were like a day at the ballpark in the sunshine. I love earth colors (green & brown) but the brown in the current Classic skin is overwhelming and just depressing, especially the in-game screen.

The OOTP skins, instead of feeling like a day in the sunshine, now make me feel like I'm hunched over at a cold, windy night game during a rain delay.

I guess dark & gloomy is the modern computer style these days but I yearn for the days when the skins were a reflection of the joy of baseball and exuded a feeling of warmth & light & sunshine instead of being dark & 'cool looking.'

But these things are a matter of taste, and it's probably just me. I guess I just don't taste good.

I am glad someone brought this up and others agree. The lettering is thin in some places and harder to see. This is especially true with the box scores at the top of the page. 12 did seem to read better.

I can live with it, but a thicker font would be appreciated.

The skin files are now available in the add-ons dialog, so in theory someone could go in and edit / create a new skin.

There will be no new skins from us, however we may tweak a couple of things in existing skins for future patches.

On occasion. It only really shows up in the BBN pages. Like if a guy has been around long enough, his career totals may bleed together for things like Games, At-bats, hits.

Some of the column headers barely do, but not so bad. As far as in the game it self, I have no problems. It only has an effect on the pages. The tabs, the stuff on the top header, they all stay the same.

I just wanted to do it because I liked having the numbers stay in line more.

This is what it looks like with the BNN page, (one of my stud players) you can see a bit of overlapping, but for me it is fine. If I want to look at his totals, I will go to his profile and check them out.

I'm using the classic skin but am not too keen on the shade of brown that seems so prominent on the broadcast screen.....not sure if it counts as a "skin" but I really like the "old school" style of the ESPN iscore app for the ipad.

Anyway Markus, it's a very minor complaint about the best version of the best baseball game I've ever played

Actually, after a moments reflection it's not a complaint at all, just an observation

Going from version 11 to 13, and I gotta agree, don't care for any of the skins or layouts. Been using the classic skin in'11 and it's so much easier to read and find what you need.

Wonder if any of the modders will be able to figure out how to bring that skin into '13 and make it work with all the changes.
