So I have a dozen Ty Cobbs ...
I made a rather, uhm, dumb mistake. Four seasons into my fictional 1900s game I added high school and college feeder leagues (no draft yet).
My structure overall is currently a 2x8 major league and a dozen or so independent minor leagues of various sizes/levels. When the 1905 top prospects were announced my jaw dropped, because the top prospects were a dozen Ty Cobbs, all different guys on different teams (plus assorted other "real players", multiplied). As it turns out I forgot to de-activate the "import historical rookies" option for the high school and college leagues. So now I've entered commissioner mode and click myself through the player lists of each league, loking for duplicates and regenerating names. Is there a quicker way to do this? I'm guessing: no. I guess I'll be starting a 2010 MLB game for now.

I think you can go to Game Setup and choose the leagues that have all the duplicate players and there should be an option to regenerate player names. I'm pretty sure about this. I just don't have my game open right now.

Yes, in the league functions you can randomize the names, but as far as I know that affects all players - as I have 4 seasons of history and some established names in my game I would prefer not to use this "nuke" option.
Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Here you go. Mind you, though, those came as free agents from college/high school feeders (I set one of those up for each minor and the major league ... no affiliation in my game yet).
They all have different stats, so renaming them (and a couple hundred others) would be an option, but I think I may just start again in 1901 with my league (did only 4 seasons so far and saved the original setup as template) and do it properly this time.
