Stuck in a weird situation in-game.

So I'm GM'ing the San Antonio Rampage. I made it to the end of the season and was ousted in the first round. Following my loss, several of my players were called up to the NHL. This round of call-ups left me with "too few prospects," preventing me from continuing my off-season. I thought I would try to sign a couple young throwaway players just to fill the gap so I could at least continue. However, the players I contacted said they would get back to me in a few days. I am not able to sim these few days due to my lack of prospects.... Does anyone have any advice? I don't want to throw away this particular save file, and this could very easily happen to me again.

It should be allowing you to sign players immediately if you're stuck in a situation like that, but I'm wondering if the AHL prospects rule isn't triggering that condition properly.

(We really need to re-do that whole rule soon, it's a veteran's limit rather than a prospects requirement in real life, but we weren't able to implement it properly due to not having minor league player histories. Now we do, so we can do it correctly.)
