Contract Extensions Added

I hope with the massive contract extensions added for players like Kaprizov, Eichel, Hudson, and Connor that that means that the future Salary Cap Increases are going to be put into the game. Otherwise, these are only going to create issues for the AI trying to keep the teams under the cap after the 2025-26 season. This could be part of the reason we've seen the wonky behavior from the AI.

Since the cap is tied to a lot of real world financial variables, the game could never predict what the exact cap would be.

That being said, there should be a check box for an AI controlled cap modifier each season.. something random between 0 and 3% increase.

And if you don't check the box, you either live with a static cap, or manually update it every July 1st.

Great idea. Something the fan base has wanted for years that gives the option to use it or not.

Yes, and Jeff has stated they are considering implementing a rising salary cap system. I'm surprised they added all these extensions in without it or at least implemented the upcoming Cap rises into the 2026 and 2027 season. Without it that puts the AI in a pickle for the 2026 season at least. I'm going to do some sim tests without the extensions and see how the AI behaves for a couple seasons.
