Assigning Pitchers in 7-day Lineups

In an online league I have run into a problem when assigning pitchers in my 7-day lineups. We sim 7 days at a time but rainouts play havoc with the assignment of pitchers. If there is a rainout it will start a pitcher the next day, if that is when the makeup game is, but will start him again too soon on short rest.
Has anyone else run into this problem and come up with a solution or work around?
I like control all my pitchers and lineups but this situation takes away from the realism in the league (a long running league currently in 1936). I have the setting to YES for skipping pitcher if tired in lineup selection.

Thank you

I use 7-day lineups, but in my own game where I sim one day at a time. I know if I accidentally leave a lineup spot blank or leave an injured player in the lineup, the AI will fill that spot automatically when the game is played. So would it work if you left the pitcher's spot empty in your seven-day lineups? My thinking is that the AI would then place your highest-rested starter in the lineup when the game is simmed.

That is the way I am doing it now but it has lost some of the control feel for me. In this league I take an excel calendar to try to map out my pitchers for the entire season now I have had to abandon my calendar.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. That would bother me, as well. But if it works, you might have to live with it.
