creating a custom league needs work

While i like a number of the new developments in fhm4 i still find the process of trying to create a custom league (universe) is simply off-putting.

If there is an option to start a fictional league in the past then there should be a simple way to adjust the financials so players aren't signing multi million dollar contracts in the 1940s.

A more straight forward way to eliminate overtime play with tie games would be appreciated as well.

The ability to customize playoffs in a manner that approaches what can be done in OOTP would be nice to have.

When creating minor leagues and junior leagues it is nice to see the option to select specific geographic areas but even when i choose one of those areas the locations that the game selects seem to be nearly whimsical.

If you're going to have geographic areas available as an option why not offer selections based on eras. If i'm creating a league that starts in the 1940s give me the option of populating the minors and the juniors with locations where minor league and junior teams played in that era.

As it is I find that I need to devote more time to creating a custom league, including false starts that require you to start over again, than I would like to or should need to.

Overall I think the game continues to get better and better. The Challenge mode and the new historical challenges are great and the Standard game has to my mind far surpassed the old Eastside Hockey game which I have fond memories of.

Hopefully FHM 5 will see improvements for those of us who like fictional games too.

I'm on board with some of this as well, there are a lot of things still left to iron out to really make it perfect, but it's getting there. The customized schedules are a huge lift, the playoff formats as well, and various fixes made to it that hurt in the past. It's getting better with each year, just have to keep the faith and support them as they work at it.
