Manager History -AJ Hinch
AJ Hinch has an “average” reputation and his strategy is not preset to sabermetrics. His history and career record only has his tenure with the Dbacks when he was in the front office. There is nothing in there about his record as an actual manager with the Astros.

We'll check on the history and update that if needed. Thanks!

Gabe Kapler's manager style, roster preference, and strategy sliders seem off. Just started a new standard game and he is listed as a smallball manager and the sliders are all off. He loves OBP, but is set as preferring AVG, and had a quick hook for pitchers and used a ton of shifts.

As Magic Johnson is busy ruining the Lakers, the owner of the Dodgers should probably be changed to either Stan Kasten or Mark Walter.

Not sure if this is the right place to put this our if it should be somewhere else, but for some reason in the WCB in 2020 with real rosters, Team USA was filled with no name temporary players. The other rosters appeared to have taken the top MLB/international players.

When you do so, would you please include a link to your saved game files so we can check out what's actually going on in the save? Thanks!

A few free agent coaches are missing their nationalities
Manager - Boris Rothermundt is French. Jason Bell is American, from Chesterfield, MO. He also isn't a free agent - he is one of the Astros' minor league coordinators, but those roles aren't in the game. Bench Coach - Mike Nickeas is Canadian, born in Vancouver, BC. Petr Baroch is Czech. Pitching Coach - Thiago Caldiera is Brazilian. Hitting Coach - Michal Muller is Czech. Julio Germosen is Dominican. He was born in Santo Domingo, DR Tim Raines, Jr. is American, born in Memphis, TN |

Most of these guys just had no nationalities set in the db, which means the game gives them random ones or none. I've fixed everyone mentioned. One thing, on guys like Jason Bell, if they work for a team but in a position we don't have in the game, we'll set guys like that as fa's just to get them in the game/db. We really should go through and comprehensively add all the MLB staff from positions that aren't in OOTP into the db as free agents at some point. It's one of the things to do which never quite seems to move up to the top spot on the to-do list

No problem, I am just posting as I would update my own databases. The free agent coaches are my first stop.
I did have one question with regards to pitches. Dallas Keuchel as an example. In game, he has a knuckle curve, which he used to throw in real world. I don't think hes thrown it but a handful of times over the last 5 years. Do you leave that pitch as one of his offerings, even if he hasn't thrown it in a couple of years? |

Don't worry too much about the MLB pitcher repertoires right now though (MiLB/international/indy leagues are a different story). As mentioned in the other thread, I'm literally in the middle (well, about 25% through) of updating everyone on the 40-man rosters from the Brooks Baseball data. In a week or two, once all that's in the game, then it would be super helpful for you and other folks to look and see what's wrong and what I missed. For now, so much is changing anyway, that you could just be posting based on outdated info, and it would be a waste of your time and effort, which would be a shame.

Thanks for addressing my concerns with the roster. They may not seem big to some people, but I kinda obsess about details. I'm sure there are others too, baseball fans can be odd. Looking forward to the updates. |

Mostly small potatoes positional stuff for Jays minor leaguers, but I'll post anyway.
Kendrys Morales - Fielding stats missing his inning at 3B in 2018 Devon Travis - Has never played anywhere but 2B but has rather high experience ratings all around the diamond. Also he'll miss the start of the season with an injury. https://twitter.com/KeeganMatheson/s...79228289146881 Mark Leiter Jr. - Had Tommy John Surgery on March 12th. https://twitter.com/KeeganMatheson/s...79228289146881 Cavan Biggio - Played quite a bit of 1B and 3B last year but his experience ratings to not reflect that. https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=biggio001cav Gunnar Heidt - Played quite a bit of 1B last year but has 0 experience there. https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=heidt-000gun Forrest Wall - Hasn't played 2B regularly since 2016 https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=wall--000for Josh Almonte - Spent 2018 as a pitcher https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=almont000jos Chad Spanberger - Has never played 3B https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=spanbe000cha Cullen Large - Was primarily a 3B in 2018 https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=large-000cul Brandon Grudzielanek - Should have a rating at 1B https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=grudzi000bra Yeltsin Gudino - Should have a rating at 3B https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=gudino000yel Brandon Polizzi - Played some 2B last year https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=polizz000bra Mc Gregory Contreras - Was primarily a LF in 2018 https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=contre000mcg Andy McGuire - Played as a 2-way player last year and should have a rating at 1B https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=mcguir000and Ryan Gold - Played some 1B in 2018 https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=gold--000rya Steward Berroa - He's primarily an OF but doesn't have the vitals or experience for that, and shouldn't have a rating at 1B, 3B or SS https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=berroa000ste Rafael Lantigua - Played some 3B last year https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=lantig000raf Leonardo Jimenez - He's a 2B/SS, not a 1B https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=jimene003leo Andres Guerra - Shouldn't have a LF rating https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=guerra000and Miguel Hiraldo - Primarily played SS in 2018 https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=hirald001mig Last edited by gosensgo101; 03-23-2019 at 06:55 PM. |

Elvis Luciano appears to be properly listed as a Rule 5 guy but he starts the year in Single-A Landing and it looks like I can just leave him there if I want. Same with a bunch of other Rule 5 guys.

Just playing around with the Brewers - there are some issues with the 40 man and active rosters, but I would imagine those will change. I focused mostly on the Brewers contracts at the end of my first season. If the contract number was close (which they all are, generally within 1M) I didn't worry about it.
Brett Lawrie hasn't played since July 2016, but his neutral ML resulting stats (in the editor) are better than any season before his hiatus. His contract is also a bit off, it is a minor league deal that becomes a 1M contract if he makes the majors. He should start in the minors, since he isn't even playing in Spring Training. There is a team option for 2020, also a bunch of performance/playing time escalators - none of which I think OOTP can do. Josh Fields minor league deal should also go up to 1M if he is called up to the majors. Yasmani Grandal's contract should have a 2.25M buyout for the team option in 2020. Mike Moustakas should have a 3M buyout. Chase Anderson's contract should have options for both 2020 and 2021, each with a $500,000 buyout. Potentially saving that 8 million in 2020 is big for the Brewer budget. Eric Thames has a 1M buyout in 2020. Yelich should have a 1.25M buyout in 2022. |

Harper only has a 10 year contract in the game. I assume this is a hard limit as you can't select any longer duration of contract?
