AI Pitch Counts

I'm a few games into the 2020 season and I am seeing the AI leaving pitchers in for 130 pitches regularly.

Like for example, simming through a game, Giants are up on me 13-1 in the 7th inning and Samardzija still on the mound, well over 100 pitches.

Is the AI doing this to save the bullpen or do they regularly leave their SP in for longer than 100 pitches? Obviously stamina bar has something to do with this as well.

This has also happened with Kevin Gasuman. Both Samardzija and Gausman were throwing well against me so I can see the reasoning I suppose. I believe Gausman threw 131 pitches and Samardzija was 135.

The opposite has also happened where the AI leaves a pitcher in who is getting rocked far too long. Pitcher was clearly struggling with walks and getting hit around, one of my guys hits a grand slam off of him and AI just left him in for awhile longer (possibly to save on bullpen?)

Granted I'm only 9 games into my season (I GM and manage so going game by game) but is this normal?

While I don’t know for certain, I think I have seen this particularly early in the season. Once time goes on and they begin having some fatigue, and 10-12 stretches without team off day, it seems they begin to throttle down a bit

It also wouldn't hurt to check your modifiers in your league settings. Maybe something changed over the offseason and the modifier for SP stamina was increased.
