Nobody Likes Jason Thompson

At least in the current historical league I am playing. He is disliked both nationally and locally even though he has a laid back personality and rarely causes trouble...I started the league in 1977 and it is now 1991. He is a 2 star player, a back up for Kent Hrbek. He is a career .270 hitter with almost 300 hr. He far out-performed his real life counterpart. The only thing I can think is that he makes a lot of money, $1.3 mil and he is only a spot starter...maybe the fans don't like him because he isn't worth the money?

He lasted through the '89 season. He hit .281 for his career, 170 hr... 1991 is my first year without Lou and Tram, sadly. Tram hit .269 with 1800 hits, Lou hit .266 with 1600 hits. They are still relatively young too..33 and 34. The only other original left is Parrish and he is going strong in terms of production, though his hasn't hit above .250 for 5 years...he has 270 hr, 1000 runs and rbi.

Has he ever been suspended for using PEDs? That usually does the trick.

In fact, that's the only in-game way for a player to become disliked. A single PED suspension automatically equals both national and local dislike. There's no other way for it to happen besides using the editor.

That was it...the thing is it happened in March of 1977, just after I started the game. 15 years is a long time to hate a guy. I guess it's like how people hate Melky Cabrera, Nelson Cruz, Jhonny Peralta, and Ryan Braun.
