We added Kyle to Trois Rivieres. I think it was just after the game was completed. He'll be correct in the first patch. Last edited by Lukas Berger; 03-20-2015 at 10:42 AM. |

Looking at the 2015 Cubs, a few things jumped out at me:
C Wellington Castillo, Iowa - I believe he's out of minor league options and would therefore have to be on the opening day ML roster or put on waivers, at which point another team would claim him IF Brian Bocock, Iowa - AFAIK he's not with the Cubs, looks like he signed a minor league deal with KC in January P C.J. Edwards, Tennessee - his ratings seem low considering that he is one of the top pitching prospects in the organization P Pierce Johnson, Tennessee - see above |

Their ratings look pretty high here, both are very good prospects, especially Edwards, and I think we have them rated that way. Good catch on Bocock, fixed. On Castillo, good catch there as well. This was fixed yesterday, but not in time for the Gold build. It'll be right in the patch on Monday. |

One thing you need to keep in mind is there are 2 weeks left before OD. No one knows where Castillo will end up. They got Montero and Ross this offseason and all signs point to them breaking camp with the team. We won't know for sure until early April.

When I said it was fixed, I actually just meant that we gave him the 3 MiLB options in the db, he'd been on 0 before and I was thinking that's what the post was referring to. |

Yeah I didn't get round to doing the NL Central options until yesterday. But they should hopefully be included when the first patch is released.

Yes, guys, please remember when talking about ratings: Either turn scouting OFF or to 100% ACCURATE. That will show the real ratings that we input into the editor.

Hey fellas,
GREAT job on the rosters! I did catch that c Dioner Navarro of the Blue Jays is a DH only. In the editor his catching experience is only at 50, resulting in a "25" rating there. |

I did that because the team is planning on carrying Martin and Thole as the primary C's with Navarro used sparingly and mainly as a DH. I figured with as much whining he'd been doing, that he'd be dealt by now and I could jack his C ratings back up.

Smith. only missing player other than a handful of international guys is Tim Saunders who un-retired (Cubs Prospect Tim Saunders Set to Return in Spring Training - Chicago Cubs Online) |

This may seem like a silly question - but why do have to turn scouting OFF or to 100% to view the ratings? Is that because each scout would show them reflected differently? |

It's only an issue if you're going to post about the ratings here. We deal with the "official" ratings, so to see those accurately in game, you can't have scouting on. |

Well, I'm not really with you on that. He hit all of 4 HR's in Cuba. He didn't really kill it in any other areas either. I think the scouts are way, way too high on him.
The great Cuban hitters, Abreu, Despaigne, Puig, Cespedes, even not so great guys like Viciedo and Miranda, dominated the league at 17-18-19. Moncada not only didn't dominate, he was decidedly average. That in a Cuban League with significantly worse pitching than when all those older guys were Moncada's age. Moncada's performance in Cuba is pretty much in line with that of guys like Yuniesky Betancourt, Henry Urrutia and a bunch of guys who flamed out in the minors. If it wasn't that people expect him to be a top prospect in the set, I'd have him rated lower across the board. Last edited by Lukas Berger; 03-20-2015 at 11:42 AM. |
