Things went better for Brooklyn in the 2nd game as Bugs Raymond pitched a complete game in a 5-2 win over the Cardinals.

What a strange game. Fred Mitchell pitched incredibly well before having to leave the game in the 9th with a hamstring problem. And then, after the game being a nail-biter, Hi West walked Miller Huggins with the bases loaded to give the Superbas a 2-1 walk-off win over the Reds.

Mitchell should be fine in time for his next start.

Danny Murphy had the day off.

Mordecai Brown led the Superbas to a 7-4 win over the Pirates. Unfortunately, the Brooklyn skipper left him in for one batter too long and he was forced out of the game with a sore shoulder. Now it looks like his next start will have to be pushed back, at a minimum.

Danny Murphy hit his 5th homer of the year!

A dramatic steal o home gave the Pirates the 12th inning lead and they ended up beating Brooklyn 7-5.

Bill Dinneen left the game with an unknown ailment. We await word on his condition.
