Bench Player for X Days
So I have been using this bit of strategy to attempt to un-slump players, but I have also been using it when players have day to day injuries, or injuries not long enough to go on the 15 day DL. Is this really effective, or am I damaging my players' egos by making them ride the pine for a week? The problem is, I never gave it much thought until just now.`

I've never seen any negative come from it. I see it as the trainer/manager telling the player he is shut down for x days. Another good use for this feature is to mitigate AI overuse of key relievers in the middle of the season.

I use it for that very reason with relievers. I sim day by day, so I use it to make sure the AI doesn't use a tired reliever or to give a reliever who's had a lot of innings an extra day. Never once have I seen it affect a player's morale in many many seasons of using that strategy.

I suggest we let each individual user decide how he wishes to play his game, and not make blanket decisions for all. And it's extremely beneficial for online leagues or people who sim games rather than play them out. Last edited by Bluenoser; 01-16-2015 at 04:01 PM. |

The AI does bench players with DtD injuries. I don't know the threshold % that triggers that but it mimics what I would do.
I agree with Bluenoser.
