Rodel, Haines, Felix
Here are 3 more opponent types from the HBA I rated
George "Boer" Rodel 16-17-1 (7) Game South African, pretty much failed in his big fights losing to Coffey, KO Brennan, Both Flynns (Jim and Porky) Jess Willard and Gunboat Smith. Peter Felix 23-19-8 (9) A second tier black fighter who had most all of his wins VS vastly inferior competition. Was handled with a fair amount of ease by some of the better fighters being KO'd by Bill Doherty (who he also beat once) Lang, Squires and Gunner Moir. His level of competition is showing as he is a dismal 2-19-1 in the HBA John "Klondyke" Haines 22-12-4 (12) A solid black fighter, though on a par below the Langfords, McVeys etc. Defeated Denver Ed Martin and Joe Goddard but came up short against Langford, Peter Maher and Frank Childs, who beat him 5 times. Doing the best of the 3 in the HBA with a current record of 14-7-4, though none of his wins are against the more elite in the HBA......He has also beaten Denver Ed Martin via 8th round KO in the HBA, so art imitates life in that instance. Enjoy Lee |

2 more
2 more HBA guys who are not in the game.
Frank Childs 28-10-4 (17) Another solid black fighter from 1892-1904. fought the best of them and held the "colored" Heavyweight Championship on 2 occasions over a 3 year stretch. Defeated Klondyke Haines, Bob Armstrong and the Barbados Demon Joe Walcott. Lost to Choynski, Jack Johnson and Denver Ed Martin. Sits at 9-4-1 in the HBA and has beaten Marvin Hart and Gunboat Smith. Has also lost to Gus Ruhlin and Denver Jack Geyer. George "One Round" Davis 23-12-2 (21) Fought from 1912-1921, a dangerous fighter with a big punch and weak chin ala Jake Knifton. Has yet to debut in the HBA, but holds real life wins over Al Benedict, Jack "Twin" Sullivan and Jim Stewart. Stopped by Jim Coffey, Jim flynn, KO Brennan, and Tom Cowler. If he didn't get them they usually got him, his fights should always be exciting. |
