Rules updates

Obviously the major and easier to understand rules changes will be in the game (3 batter/end of inning minimum, 26/28 man rosters), but will the less talked about changes be in there as well? Specifically I’m wondering about the following:

1. The cap of 13 pitchers on the active roster (14 on Sept 1).
2. The restrictions on using a position player as a pitcher.
3. The definitions/qualifications of a pitcher, position player or designated 2-way player.
4. Requirement that pitchers spend 15 days in the minors on optional assignments as opposed to only 10 days for position players.
5. Three different ILs (15 day IL for pitchers, 10 for position players, 7 for concussions).

There are a few others, but with roster management being such a big part of the game, I’d hope these details made the cut as well as the more publicized ones.

The pitcher cap/position player as a pitcher/2way rules are not in the game. We may look to add them down the road, but as of now we don't intend to have them in.

The split 15 day/10 day IL time is in (and is configurable, obviously, in that you can set different rules for batter or pitchers).

I feel like the position player pitching rule is so complex and so rare already that in any random case in OOTP that a position player does actually pitch, it'll probably comply with the IRL rule anyways, so I wouldnt worry about that one. And the 2-way player rule I feel like could be "somewhat" easy for you to implement after launch.

But with the roster size caps, and correct me if im wrong, but wouldnt we already be able to control that with the "General AI roster settings?" With the 26 man roster, we could put those settings at 8 relievers and 13 position players, and when the rosters expand to 28, change the settings to 8 and 14, that way teams can choose to go 14 pitchers/14 position players or 13/15, but will never go 15 pitchers?

I for one would like more options for complex roster rules, although I know that testing to make sure the AI can use them properly would be a bit of a pain.

Matt, is there any chance the optional assignment duration gets added? That’s the one thing could cut down on human abuse of the AI, especially for pitchers.
