Record: 3-3, 4th, 1 GB Des Moines and Quad City
John Lehto drove in Grant Witherspoon with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Des Moines a 7-6 win over St. Louis in the second game of a doubleheader at Labatt Park (Montreal).
With the win, Des Moines took the final three games of the four-game series.
Down 6-5 after St. Louis had scored in the top of the 10th on a Nicky Delmonico lead-off homer against Yonnis Chirinos, Witherspoon had led off the bottom of the 10th with a double off River Walkers reliever Phil Maton.

A two-run homer from Rodriguez in the bottom of the first off St. Louis ace Aaron Nola had given the Harvesters an early 2-0 lead.
RBI singles from Edmond Americaan (off Des Moines reliever Jandel Gustave) and Bo Bichette (off Luis Avilan) had put the Walkers ahead 5-4.
But Lee smack a solo homer off Nola to lead off the sixth, tying it again
It would stay that way until Delmonico's solo shot in the 10th.
Harvesters starter Dane Dunning allowed three runs on five hits in 4.2 innings.
Gustave (0.2 IP) and Avilan (0.2) both had short stints on the mound before Luis Vazquez (2.0) and Chirinos both handled a pair of innings to close it out,

Walkers news: April 18 -- Quad City 2, St. Louis 0

Record: 3-4, 4th, 2 GB Des Moines and Quad City

Matt Ruppenthal scattered four hits over six shutout innings and a trio of relievers didn't allow a baserunner the rest of the way, as Quad City downed St. Louis 2-0 at Busch Stadium (1997).
The loss was the fourth in a row for the River Walkers, who had opened their season with four consecutive wins.
The Thunder got the only run it would need in the top of the third when Miguel Gomez led off with a double.
A sacrifice bunt from Ruppenthal moved him to third, and Gomez scored on a Duke Kinamon single.
The only other run came in the ninth, when Carter Kieboom hit a two-out homer off Jake Brentz.
The 2022 National League Cy Young winner, Ruppenthal got the best of the runner-up Kyle Hendricks, who took the loss.
Ruppenthal allowed the four hits and did not walk a batter while striking out eight.

An Andrew Benintendi single moved him to third and after Steele uncorked a wild pitch, it was 1-0 River Walkers.

Joey Gallo hit a three-run home run off St. Louis starting pitcher Alex Faedo in the top of the first inning to stake Kansas City to an early lead, and the Pit Masters never trailed on their way to a 6-3 win at Busch Stadium (1997).
An RBI double from Christian Arroyo off K.C. starter Max Fried in the bottom of the sixth and a run-scoring single from J.T. Realmuto off reliever Kyle Nelson in the seventh pulled the River Walkers to within 3-2.
But the Masters were quick to rebuild their advantage.
Tyler Frank opened the top of the eighth with a homer off Eduardo Jimenez.

For the second game in a row, Joey Gallo homered in the first inning for the Pit Masters, this one a two-run shot off River Walkers starter Argenis Batista.
St. Louis tied it in the fourth when Jean Carmona matched it with a two-run homer of his own, his off K.C. starter Pablo Lopez.
The Masters took the lead for good in the sixth, when Matt Duce and pinch-hitter Tommy Edman smacked consecutive two-out triples off reliever Bill Warson.
Kansas City added two more runs in the seventh when Reyes Moronta ran into trouble.
Coming on with a runner on first, Brian Mundell had led off with a single off Warson, he walked Joey Gallo and then saw Danny Cushing reach on an error by shortstop Andrelton Simmons, loading the bases.
Moronta walked Mookie Betts for the second out.

St. Louis' Edmond Americaan would connect for a two-run homer off Skyline reliever Taylor Heard in the third to make it 3-2.

Walkers news: April 29 -- St. Louis 8, Cincinnati 6

Record: 9-8, 3rd, 2 GM Des Moines
Making just his third major-league at-bat Larry Ernesto hit a two-run homer off Cincinnati's Jesus Liranzo with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to give St. Louis an 8-6 come-from-behind win at Busch Stadium (1997).
The River Walkers at one point had trailed 6-0.
J.T. Realmuto had drawn a one-out walk from Liranzo before Ernesto's homer, which came on a 1-1 pitch and traveled 421 feet into the stands in right-center.
A four-run fifth inning was the big blow in Cincinnati building its 6-0 lead.
Up 1-0, Kyle Hendricks allowed three of the Skyline's first four batters to reach before a sacrifice fly from Travis Swaggerty scored Francisco Mejia to make it 2-0.
The next batter, Mike Trout, swatted a Hendricks pitch 366 feet for a three-run homer.
The lead grew to 6-0 in the top of the sixth, when Vladimir Guerero Jr. led off with a single off Hendricks and later scored on an error by Walkers second baseman Bo Bichette.
But somehow St. Louis rallied.
Christian Arroyo led off the seventh with a double off Cincinnati starter Corbin Burnes and scored on a fielder's choice.
Rhys Hoskins later cranked a two-run homer off reliever David Rosebloom to make it 6-3.
In the eighth, it was a big swing of the bat from Bichette, a three-run job off Ryan Castellani, which tied it at 6.
That set the stage for Ernesto's heroics in the ninth.
Hendricks worked six rough innings, allowing six runs on six hits.
John Curtiss, however, stepped up with two scoreless innings.
Alex Faedo, Bobby Poyner and Jake Brentz all recorded outs in the ninth to keep it tied.
Brentz (2-1) earned his second win.

Walkers news: April 30 -- Cincinnati 3, St. Louis 2

Record: 9-9, 3rd, GB Des Moines
Tied 1-1, Cincinnati strung together four straight two-out hits off St. Louis reliever Bill Warson to pave the way for a pair of sixth-inning runs in en route to a 3-2 win at Busch Stadium (1997).
With the victory, the Skyline took two of three games from the River Walkers.
Warson had taken the mound with one out in the fourth inning after starter Tanner Bibee had to leave with a mild strained hamstring.
Bibee was making a spot start from Memphis, after scheduled starter Alex Faedo was too tired after having to pitch in the previous game.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. got things going in the sixth with a double.
He moved to third when Ronald Acuna Jr. followed with a single.
Francisco Meija plated Guerrero with a single.
Another single, this one from Trea Turner, scored Acuna Jr. and made it 3-1.
St. Louis had a great chance in the eighth inning and did get a run, but missed an opportunity at more.
Bo Bichette and Michael Toglia opened the inning with back-to-back doubles off Skyline reliever Ryan Castellani.
With Bichette having scored on Toglia double, a walk to Rhys Hoskins put runners at first and second with no outs.
But Castellani struck out Jean Carmona and then got Christian Arroyo to hit a line drive double play, Hoskins being caught away from first.
Beau Burrows handled the first five innings for CIncinnati, allowing one run on three hits. He struck out six and walked three.
Four relievers -- Emilio Pagan, Taylor Hearn, Castellaini and Jesus Liranzo closed it out by going an inning apiece.
Liranzo notched his second save.
