In the bottom of the third, Coveleski struck out Seibold for his 30th K of the season.

In the top of the fourth, Roth hit a two run triple. Graney followed with an RBI single. It was the 30th hit allowed by Seibold this season.

In the bottom of the fourth, O'Neill threw Strunk out at second for his 20th caught base stealer of the season.

Lajoie led off the bottom of the fifth with his 10th double of the season. Oldring would bring him home with a two out triple.

In the top of the sixth, Graney's 25th hit of the season was an RBI single.

In the bottom of the sixth, McInnis hit an RBI double. McInnis would later score on a Lajoie ground out.

In the top of the first, Chapman scored on a wild pitch, giving the Indians their first run before they had their first hit. Later in the same inning, Roth picked up his 20th stolen base of the season. Wyckoff then walked Smith. It was the 50th base on balls allowed by Wyckoff this season. But Gandil grounded out to end the inning.

In the bottom of the first, Lajoie put the Athletics out in front with a two out, two run triple. It was the 163rd career triple for Lajoie, placing him 15th in MLB history. Witt then brought Lajoie home with his own triple putting him at 20 hits on the season. It was the 60th hit allowed this season by Morton.

In the bottom of the second, a two out single went down as Walsh's 30th hit of the season. But he would be caught stealing second.

In the top of the third, Smith hit an RBI double. Smith would go on to score from third on a Wambsganss grounder to second and the score was tied.

After three: Cleveland 3 Philadelphia 3.

In the bottom of the sixth, Lajoie put the Athletics back in front with an RBI double. It was his 30th hit of the season. Witt then singled to score Schang from third but Lajoie was thrown out at home by Roth as he tried to score from second. Chapman booted a grounder to commit his 10th error of the season at short stop. With runners at the corners and two out, Oldring brought both base runners home with a double. Wyckoff then brought Oldring home with a single. The Athletics batted around the order and scored five times.

After six: Philadelphia 8 Cleveland 3.

In the top of the seventh, Wyckoff walked Roth to issue his 10th base on balls of the game. With a runner on first and one out, Ellis Johnson took the mound for the Athletics and got the next two batters out.

In the bottom of the seventh, Schang singled for the Athletics 10th hit of the game. With runners at the corners and two out, Fritz Coumbe took the mound for the Indians and he got Witt to pop out to end the inning.

Leading off the top of the eighth, Wambsganss got an infield single for his 20th hit of the season. The Indians went on to load the bases with two out. Speaker then brought two home with a single, putting him over 25 RBI on the season. Roth walked to load the bases again. But Smith grounded to second to retire the side.

Jim Bagby Sr took the mound for the Indians in the bottom of the eighth.

Jack Nabors took the mound for the Athletics in the top of the ninth. Three outs later, the Athletics had the win.

The Athletics out hit the Indians 11-5.

Final score: Philadelphia 8 Cleveland 5.

In the top of the eighth, the Indians loaded the bases with nobody out. Graney grounded into the 1-2 fielder's choice for the first out. Then Gandil singled to bring home two.

In the top of the ninth, Speaker added an RBI single to make it a three run lead. Schang then threw Speaker out at second for his 40th caught base stealer of the season.

It was the 30th base on balls allowed by Nabors this season. Mitchell added an RBI single. Chapman went down on strikes for the second out. Turner then brought two home with a double, the Indians 10th hit of the game. Ten batters came to the plate with five of them scoring.

In the top of the ninth, a two out RBI single by O'Neill was his 25th hit of the season and the 50th allowed by Nabors this season.

After finishing their 23 game home stand with a 10-13 mark, the Athletics begin a 22 game road trip in Washington today against the Senators. The Athletics are just 2-9 on the road this season. The Senators have lost 4 of their last 5. The season series is tied 4-4.

Morgan hit an RBI single. It was the 25th hit allowed by Ellis Johnson this season. Ellis Johnson then walked Rice for his 10 base on balls allowed on the season to load the bases with two out.
