Suggestion- Play By Play Announcer for each team

Would love to be able to have a different picture of an announcer for each team. You could be able to do by the team or stadium that is playing.. When playing out games.

Maybe you could change the pictures just like players.

The More things to add to the realism , would be so great..

Couldn't this be done pretty easy.

i've always thought it'd be sweet if they just made the announcer a selectable thing, like team and stadium when you go to play a game, then they make a generic announcer file like they have and the internet guys would go crazy making files represent real announcers with their catchphrases and such

Not sure I could stand an entire game of Jerry Coleman every time I played the Padres in San Diego

Jerry Coleman Quotes

That said...neat idea...and definitely would be a modder's goldmine.

I have MLB.tv, try to watch a variety of teams all season, always the home team broadcast EXCEPT for White Sox games. I can stand a little Jerry Coleman. Not that "come on...stretch....stretch...."

MLB.tv has that lovely option of being able to watch the TV feed but switch the audio feed, so I can watch and then listen to the radio broadcast, or just park sound....

If only they had the ability to just mute Harrelson because his partner Steve Stone is actually pretty good.

The stretch stretch is not even the worst thing......

When he starts thinking how the umpires are out to get the Sox and are missing calls on purpose.....he pretty much ruins the whole broadcast.

And he is pretty much a baseball neanderthal.....he is one of those old farts in the scouting department in Moneyball. Like seriously. Back when Gordon Beckham was first called up he would not stop talking about how he had a good baseball face and was going to be a star. Yeah....

Except for when he absolutely loses his **** over an umpire, like when Quintana got ejected last year. That rant was transcendent entertainment.

Not another hate on Hawk thread.

Love his catchphrases hate his stories. And he is better then Jim Deshaies with the Cubs. I do like Len Kasper.

I agree with that. His stories get long winded and pointless at times.

When he's actually calling the game though I'm thoroughly entertained.

One the greatest things about mlb.tv is being able to listen to different broacasters. I used to love Hawk 15-20 years ago but he has gotten so bad. His constant rants about the umpires and shots at stat geeks gets a little tiresome. His homerun call isn't as annoying as some. It's distinct and that's not a bad thing. That being said I' can't stand the "he gone".

I do think announcers should have a little homerism to them but they still need to stay somewhat objective. Somewhere along the line that no long mattered to Hawk. F.P. Santangelo with the Nats is another guy I can't stand for many of the same reasons.

I also like Len Kasper a lot. And I was sad to see Bob Brenly go. I appreciated his honesty and his calling out cubs players for lack of hustle etc. Favorite line was "you could throw a dart in the cubs dugout and hit someone who could play left field better than Alfonso Soriano."

The jury is still on Jim Deshaies for me. I haven't heard him enough.

I like this idea. Even something as simple as picking a picture of an announcer and adding a quick catchphrase that would be used on a homerun call. That'd be enough to add to the experience without making it overly complicated.
