Not bad, right? And to think he still wasn't 100% voted into the HOF. Close though. I look at it like a few questioned how "clean" he was with numbers like that over the course of an entire career.
Never caught. I'm thinking he was just THAT good at baseball. Last edited by Habsfan18; 07-11-2016 at 06:14 AM. |

Awesome. In all my years playing ootp ive only seen someone like this once and unfortunately I dont remember which file he was on. His nickname was "hillbilly" and tore me a new one during a few playoff series'. The guy had like 100 post season home runs or something ridiculous like that. I still get chills when I see that nickname used in any of my games. I sometimes draft hillbillies just for the nickname hoping they become like that old guy but it has never been repeated.
As a side note... it would have been hilarious to rename the silver slugger award to the Hillbilly award lol. Last edited by marc5477; 07-16-2016 at 07:19 PM. |

So I did end up renaming the MVP "The Tiburcio Suggia Award."
Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, but I would have to think if a player had a career like that, the league would absolutely honour him in some way. If only there was a way for me to retire his #38 league-wide. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think we can do that yet. Also debating on a change to "Silver Suggia" for the top hitters at each position, because it sounds awesome. Last edited by Habsfan18; 09-24-2016 at 11:26 PM. |

Well, Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth weren't voted in unanimously either. I imagine that a voter or two reckoned that Suggia was such a shoo-in that they should use a spot on their ballots for someone else whom they deemed worthy.

Bidding starts at $200CDN
Yeah, that's sort of how I'm treating it. Either that, or maybe some questioned how "clean" he was to have a career that incredible. Zero suspensions however, and it was a fictional league with drug suspensions enabled. |
