Not sure if its a bug, but issue with CEI
I just traded for 33 yo Nolan Arenado while injured, and a couple weeks later, it says his career is over. Now in the past, you could just release them at no expense, but when I went to release him, it asked if I wanted to spread out or pay now the remaining $46 mil on his contract. Did they change this, or is this a bug?

In the past you couldn't just release them, or you'd pay. You have to wait until the season is over and the guy will retire.

Yep I just saw that he retired. And are you sure you paid in the past, because it would just say do you want to release (), like it would say for a minor leaguer?

I'm pretty sure I've always had to wait until they retire on their own.

Yep. Just like in real life, a team can't release an injured player without honoring his contract (or getting their insurance company to honor it).

Those dam* unions demanding a minimum amount of respect for an individual!
those crank old billionares deserve so much more than what they get... we owe them so much. i don't see why 100% of stadium costs aren't covered by the public... i mean 20% of us care about baseball. (*whatever %) <cracks whip> Last edited by NoOne; 06-21-2016 at 12:29 PM. |

What'd he retire for? What was the injury? Just out of curiosity?

Yeah, you will have to toss him on the 60 day DL to open up a roster spot.
