Hi all, Vintage League Baseball just completed its fourth season -- 1879 -- and is looking for a new GM for the Boston Red Stockings, the precursor to today's Atlanta Braves.

We're a 19th-century league with historical modifiers -- for instance, with an 84-game schedule and most pitchers featuring stamina ratings above 100, most teams feature 2-man rotations -- but with a twist in that we have a modern financial system in place (free agency, amateur draft, etc.).

This is a great league to join if you're interested in learning more about the game's history, as I include real-life historical baseball information that runs parallel to the time we are simming. Ever wonder about the origins of the shortstop position or the reserve clause? We've discovered how that all went down in parallel to our alternate history.

It's also -- at the moment -- an intimate league. Just 8 teams, though we'll be expanding according to real-life history (for instance, going up to 14 teams in 1882 with the formation of the major league American Association).

We're having our annual offseason draft next week, at which real-life Hall of Famers Old Hoss Radbourn, Roger Connor, Buck Ewing, Ned Hanlon, Tim Keefe and Mickey Welch are available.
