Trade Options are gone

Hey everyone. My setup/strategy settings must have changed somehow, because I can no longer shop players around.

When I click on a player and go to "Actions", the only options available under "Trade Options" are -

  • Set Status to Available
  • Set Status to Untouchable
  • Set Status to On the block
No Shop Around options, or Trading options. Have I somehow lost GM control? This is frustrating, so if someone can point me to the appropriate options screen to check, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!

First, a really simple suggestion as a resolution. You do know that you can only shop three players in one day? And that you get three more opportunities if you advance the game a day? And so on?

That's not it. No players have been shopped in several days because, well, I can't do it. But shouldn't there be a "Trade Player" option in the Actions->Trade Options menu regardless? On the Manager Home Page, I'm listed as controlling Transactions and Initiating and Reacting to Trades. I'm under budget, so that's not it. I really have no idea what's going on.

So I am missing the options "Trade Player Away" and "Shop Player Around".

Here is what I see for my options -

I'm guessing that I will have to restore a previous backup of the game so that I get my options back. Which means I lose 2 months of season play, which is not going to make me very happy. Maybe it's just me but I thought 13 had fewer headaches than this version.

Out of curiosity, at what point in the schedule are you? Could it be that you are currently in a "trade freeze" set of days? The only reason I ask this is because you also appear to be missing the "Trade Away Player" option as well.

Perhaps you could try the other method for shopping players under the "Player Trade" tab, and to the right of "Initiate Trade".

Due to having the ability to retire player, clone player or delete player, you appear to be operating in Commissioner Mode. Did you inadvertently and/or accidentally take control of another team? An easy way to check this is to click on your GM tab, then under "Advanced", see what team is selected in the "Act As..." drop-down menu. If it says NONE or a team that is not yours, that is probably your problem. If that explanation was too complicated, another way to check is to see if your team logo appears in the top-right corner in the Manager tab.

I hope this helped.

You haven't accidentally turned off trading in the league, have you? Also, have you tried with the commissioner mode off?

I'm definitely Acting As my team's GM, so that's not it.

Bingo. That works.

I'm thinking this may be a bug which needs to be elevated? Per your suggestion to try another method above, I definitely have control of the team and can shop players around. But clicking on the player menu actions does not work as it should. That convinces me that there is nothing wrong with my league, but we have a bug on our hands.
