Just had a pitcher in the draft who had the nickname of "Lefty." Not really odd or funny, until I looked and noted that he neither batted left nor threw left.
Guessing he got the nickname from the clubhouse shower. Last edited by Koprnkc; 04-30-2014 at 10:55 AM. |

Problem is when they don't throw left, at which point, I just edit them as a lefty

Users who don't like this solution can easily delete Lefty from the names list. |

Here is another fella from my 1870 name set:
He is currently a free agent and though he is not much of a player, I feel the desire to pursue him anyway for some reason..... |

Malcolm X's grandson seems to be doing well (at least temporarily) in a European League:

Another oddity from my 1870 name set:
This fella tried to buy the Boston Red Caps in the Liberty League, but was rejected based solely on his silly name. Last edited by Questdog; 05-10-2014 at 06:35 PM. |

Monday night the Astros played the Rangers. Rougned Odor hit a HR for the Rangers. Before the game, the PA announcer wondered how to pronounce the name. "Rough Odor" was suggested.
I suggested a new pre-game announcement. "Ladies and gentlemen, if you detect a rough odor in the park, never fear. He plays for the Rangers." |

This young man has turned into a pretty solid starter in the rotation for my Tribe. A product of Salem Academy, fancy prep school in Oregon, with a country-bumpkin soundin' name.

How cool would it have been if he was from London England, a real Muswell Hillbilly boy. Sorry, huge Kinks fan here and that's just a spelling slip away from Dave Davies

In my fictional league there is a shortstop named Stuart Stewart. So not only a strange name, but the position he plays also are his initials.

Roy Rogers is putting up some ROY-type numbers on the mound for the Indianapolis Arrows this season. Guess he Cowboy'd Up.

Look for Sicnarf Loopstok. Totally real dude whose parents hated the kid so much that they not only named him "Francis," but then spelled it backwards.
