OOTP reverts to demo?
I've had the game for quite some time (pre-order) and it has been running great. I'm on v10.4.31 and I went to run it remotely this AM (as I sometimes do) and I got a bunch of demo screens, telling me I was running the demo. Don't really know what gives, has this happened to anyone else?
Running XP.

I'm back at work today and everything looks fine. It appears to be an issue when playing remotely. Anyone have this problem? Why would it work fine locally, but act as a demo when I play remotely?

Mike D, i believe i am having the same issue as you. Prompted it me about buying the game for about a month of simulation before it would not allow me to continue. Did you ever find a solution. Been waiting for some time to hear back for OOTP as well as the licensing co. Thanks In Advance

I also had this issue. I just closed OOTP and opened it again and it was acting normally again. This is the first time i've ever seen it happen, and i also have had the game since Pre-order. I have never accessed it remotely, it's all been local.

This is just a guess, but I would think running it "remotely" would be a way to try and get around the # of licenses which I imagine they would try to prevent somehow so I'm not that surprised it doen't work for you. Maybe you should ask elicense if that's why you're experiencing this.

As for the rest of you, I have seen this problem reported a number of times now and the best way you could help others to try to fix it would be by giving the info battists asks for in his sticky. Somehow I was under the impression that this was only or at least mainly just a problem for the mac/linux licensing system and therefore something PISD needed to sort out, but maybe I'm wrong. Regardless, the additional info could certainly help.
If you haven't already, you might also want to try unlicensing, uninstalling, downloading a fresh install and reinstalling. azazel made a very detailed post on a more elaborate process if you prefer. Yes, it was to fix a different problem, but I wonder if it might work for this one too. |
