Any news on Silver?

Cool, that's everyone except the Auckland Athletics.

We haven't had any news on Silver yet this week. Any chance one of the guys in Silver could give us an update and do final standings tomorrow? Just in text is cool, doesn't need to be all the tables and screenshots.

S255

In Silver 255, the Los Angeles Nighthawks are running away with the wins.

Los Angeles Nighthawks 18-8
SaukCentre Landsharks 12-15
Doug Outs 3-4
Auckland Athletics 4-10

Doug is the only OL team in their conference so the fewer games. Los Angeles is leading their division and is probably the only OL team in the playoffs.

previous results

I'm curious to know how OL teams have fared in previous OOTP versions. What levels did teams get to and were there any Perfect level champions? Last year all my teams were FTP and they bounced between gold and sliver with an occasional cup of tea in diamond, usually just one season then back to gold.

Stone

Grovers Mill captures the Stone title by sweeping Long Beach in the only OL September series.

if the Gold tier standings hold, looks like we'll have 5 playoff teams (with Baltimore just a half game back of a WC spot with the expanded playoffs this season).... 10 promotion spots and 12 playoff teams, so good chance a bunch of OL clubs will be coming up to join you at Diamond

in v22, there were 4 OL teams that made it to the Perfect tier (and one of them made it there 3 times)... the online sheet has a 'titles' tab that tracks OL titles/overall records/etc.... last version I added a column for Perfect tier appearances (column J for current version; column R for V22).....

edit: and Tinkerman's Paxville club recently won the Perfect tier championship in v22

Patriots Diamond Update: Just about eliminated from playoff contention, but definitely safe from the drop at a mind boggling 78-79. They've made over 8,000 points somehow. The fact that we've been in the race most of the season despite our mediocrity should be a condemnation of how bad the league has been this week. I think we go down next week.

A fine choice, though it can bring on a bout of the munchies!

Thanks for the standings, gives me a heads up.

Several OL teams made it to Perfect throughout the cycle, as the 'balance of power' shifted. Paxville didn't get promoted to Perfect for the first time until the very last week of OL in '22. Since then they've yoyoed up and down (quite a feat in itself), before making the playoffs for the first time and winning it all last week! Knockemstiff have only made it to Perfect once (after Paxville), but got to the playoffs six weeks in a row (not this week though). My results are testament to all the grinding I've done, more than anything else

Bronze.214

Congratulations to the Mount Hawke Tinners!

I've only bought a couple of players on their roster and they've been blessed with a very good defense early on from their packs (getting on for +50 this week).

No teams are relegated, and there's some potential for a coveted OL Series, which I'm really hoping there will be one of tonight!

With the new playoff format/number of teams, we'll have to wait to see who's promoted.

Iron.159

Congratulations to the Shinbone Stars!

They took a crucial 2-1 series to keep their noses in front.

No teams relegated in Iron either, plus 5 teams and a potential 4-way split in the playoffs.

Gold league:

Baltimore takes care of business down the final stretch to claim the Gold tier OL crown. Unfortunately in non-OL play, the Barons dropped some key games in the final weeks and finished 2 games off the WC pace.

Overall, Waxhaw (89-73), Aomori (88-74), and Greenland (84-78) won their respective divisions; while North Bay (83-79) and Waffletown (90-72) picked up wild card tickets.

In the expanded playoffs, there are three wild card teams. Wild card one plays wild card three (so Waffletown will host North Bay), while the second wild card will travel to the division winner with the fewest wins (so Radium plays Greenland). Both series are best-of-three

(going to be at the office most of the day today, so won't be around for playoff updates, if someone else wants to grab 'em. Good luck to the playoff teams.)

Looks like all the playoff teams will promote with the exception of the 2/4 Wild Card losers who had the worst regular-season record, since 10 teams out of the 12 playoff teams promote.

That means the Syrups and Wayvern have booked their tickets to Diamond, while the Seals and Blizzard have to win to advance. The Bakemonotachi control their promotion fate, but also promote if both they and the Blizzard lose.

So unless I missed something at minimum three teams will promote (Syrups, Wayvern, and either the Bakemonotachi or Blizzard), with the possibility of two additional promotions (the Seals and the other of the Bakemonotachi/Blizzard).

OL Iron Champions 2025 Shinbone Stars

Congratulations!

Doing a crisp new logo for Shinbone delayed the crowns a bit, but I think it's well worth it. I'll post it in a bit so Jeff can grab it if he's around.
