Actual History but Fictional Going Forward

Not new player but trying something different for me...

I want to start in, say, 1946 with the then-existing MLB teams and actual players (and actual past history). But I want to go forward with all-fictional draftees and with random evolution of batting and pitching increases/decreases so I don't know what's coming.

How does one do this?

Thanks.

Been I while since I did this so hopefully this info is right....

Here is the starting point in the OOTP16 manual to help you out at any rate: Out of the Park Developments Online Manuals

You are going to need to use the Advanced League Setup.
The basic premise is to click on Add New League and you should be able to add a historical league from a specific year including import of league history before that point. Hopefully the manual can help you out.

Perhaps I'm not looking in the right place, but so far when I've imported historical leagues the game then gives me historical draftees and no option to have offense/pitching change randomly. But I want fictional draftees going forward and random changes in offense/pitching.

I don't see where in the manual the situation I want is considered, but I tend not to read manuals very closely, ;>

Yeah, I didn't read it very closely either. Hopefully someone will be able to give better instructions. I'll try some things tonight if I get a chance

this is the place where you can change the settings of your league

As you see in the Picture Below use the settings in the Progression tab and turn off league evolution that is what I would do for fictional historical leagues, you can use a mix of both tho but the league evolution more/less offense, more/less pitching are very random and if you want some historical accuracy use the adjust league totals modifiers aft each season for actuary

OK, think I got it.

Create a game in advanced mode, click Add New League on left then Add a Historical League (1946 in your case). Make sure the import history box is checked. League will import (takes a while).

In the Historical tab of the League Setup (again, using advanced setup), uncheck the "Automatically Import Historical Rookies" box under Historical Rookies Settings. Attached a screenie of the correct page for reference.

Gave it a quick test and it seemed to work as you want; draft class at the end of the season was fictional (I had draft enabled).

I think once your league is made, you can also go to League Settings/Historical and uncheck Automatically Import Historical Rookies.

How I overlooked that red circled check box is a mystery to me!

Thanks.I'll try to figure out how to get random changes in offense/pitching.

In Game Settings > Players and FaceGen tab, there is a value called Talent Change Randomness. 100 is default. Bigger numbers increase the randomness of the talent changes of players.
