OOTP 15 - Settings

I have yet to get OOTP 16, so I am starting up my league in OOTP 15.

You see, I am somewhat new to OOTP. I used to play, but that was back in 2009-2010, etc. I now have OOTP 15 and want to set up a serious league that I can keep for as long at OOTP goes on - Sort of like making OOTP a Hobby instead of a "game".


So, BEFORE I start 'playing' OOTP, I need to know what settings I should look at to change or keep as they are. For example, the settings that can not be changed after you've already started your league. Because if I start a game and fin out I missed a setting that I needed or wanted, then I'd have to start over.

I disagree with this, in part. Keep evolution on but turn off schedule length, relocation & nickname change. Storylines, depending on what year you start in are cool. If you are playing pre 1950 either ignore most or turn them off. And you can change almost anything during the preseason.

Yeah, I will be starting off in 1935, however, that year is only my choice because I want to start off well below 2015. I plan on making this game (OOTP) more like a hobby instead of a 'video game' because I think OOTP is MUCH more than just a game in terms of how it's played, etc. I'm a statistics freak, lol, so I looove OOTP for reasons beyond the actual sport of baseball.

Like I said, I will be starting off in 1935 while HOPING to get the stat-like replica of the 1960'- early 1990's. I do not want a 60+ HR hitter in streaks of 3 years in a row, etc.

So, stating in 1935 and looking for settings I can not change after I start the game. However, having said that....if there are any other settings I should be looking at or in to, please post/comment on those as well, please. Like I have said, I am fairly new to OOTP as I last played around 2008-2009. I think it was OOTP 6 or OOTP 7 I last played before buying OOTP 15. I think I played a little in 2014, but had to stop due to tings going on in my life and at the time, I had already bought OOTP 15, but never installed it lol. Well, not until a few weeks ago. I will be buying OOTP 16, tho. But I'll be doing that after I set my league up so that I can just import it over. Ehh...I am babbling now.
