World of (Fictional) Baseball Project

Inspired by the World of Baseball mod by Dr. P.R. Park III, I am officially announcing a project i am starting to throw together, the World of (Fictional) Baseball Mod! For those of you who like fictional players, but want real team names, this mod is for you! Included are many different leagues, including many real european leagues! The final details will be announced soon, but so far, the details include:

All default leagues (the ones you click on in league setup)
Italian Baseball League
Honkbal Hoofdklasse (Dutch League)
1st Bundesliga (German League)
Division Elite (French League)
Elitserien (Swedish League)
Belgian First Division
Lithuanian Baseball League
Division de Honor (Spanish League)
China Baseball League (Not Taiwan)
Baseball Philippines
Irish Baseball League
Nicaraguan Professional Baseball League
Plus all of the active US Independent Leagues

This is just the base package; it's mainly for people who want just real leagues, i'm also gonna be uploading a bonus package, which includes completely fictional leagues in other select countries. I am taking requests for leagues for the bonus package.

So far, the bonus package includes (in addition to the above):

South African Baseball League
British Baseball League
Australian Baseball League
Russian Baseball League
Swiss Baseball League (this one includes one real team that i could find)
Slovakian League (One does exist in real life, but i can't find any info)
Finnish Baseball League (They have a sport related to baseball, i'll just take the teams from that league.)
Israeli Baseball League
Canadian Baseball League
New Zealand Baseball League
Names are subject to change.

I plan to have it released in the coming days. If you want to request a league for the bonus package, please post here.

Will these include graphics? uniforms and logos? Just checking.. :-)

Great concept though, been thinking about something like this for a while, but realizing how much work it will take, I get a little overwhelmed thinking about it..

It will include real graphics for the teams i can find them for, so that guarantees American Leagues and Most Asian Leagues, although the teams i can't find logos for will get fictional logos and uniforms, and of course the fictional leagues in the Bonus Package will be Fictional for the most part.

If you have some that you can't find, let me know and I can try to get them for you... even for the fictional teams... just give me the teams/leagues and if you have any preferences for the fictional leagues, let me know..

Will these also include realistic names? Like for Asia they will have Asian names, Europe - European names, etc.? I'm interested in it though!

I'm not sure what exactly you mean, if you mean player names, this will use Questdog's Modern Names, so yes. If you mean team names, they will be using real names for the most part, but there is alot (and i mean ALOT) of teams without a nickname in europe, those clubs will just simply be XXX Baseball Club.

For example, FC Barcelona (the soccer team) also has a baseball team, but since they have no official nickname, they will be called Barcelona Baseball Club.

Also, for those who are wondering whether this will include feeder leagues, it will not, for i am designing this with OOTP11's draft system in mind.

Not to steal the thunder from Bubba's wings, but I'm working on an updated World of Baseball 11 (for OOTP 11) that includes real rosters and ratings (accurate to an extent) for the Mexican, Atlantic, and Northern Leagues, and also the American Association. It will include CubbyFan's last release (which was for OOTP X) and also include the *** and KBO (courtesy of Afterburner and his troupe of cronies). Lastly, it will also include an updated CPBL.

I suppose I will create an official thread when it's much closer to release...

Just so you people know, this project is dead. My computer burned out a few months ago, and i lost the data. I just never got motivated into getting this going again. It's not to say i won't come back and try again, but for now this is the least of my concerns.

No, I won't be doing anything similar, I'm just going to be creating a World of Baseball 11 for OOTP 11. The basic premise of the World of Baseball series stemmed from having a wide variety of real, obscure world-wide leagues, but my desire to actually create real rosters (along with independent leagues) has evolved it into an extensive professional baseball universe. It includes the MLB and all of it's affiliates (minus the VSL/DSL), the ***, KBO, and CPBL, all with real rosters/ratings. Lastly, it includes a few independent leagues (Atlantic, Northern, and American Association) and the Mexican League (all with real rosters/ratings).

I just bought the game for the first time and I'm loving it! I was very happy to find such in-depth forums as well!

Anyways, I created a Kiwi league, the New Zealand Super League, and I've been having a lot of fun with it. I figure I'd post my teams in here if anyone cares...
