WTF is with trades?

Why is it I can make a trade between teams one season & not make the exact same trade with the exact same teams the next season?

The needs of the team(s) involved change. Budgets and contracts change (if financials are on). Player ratings change based on age and performance.

Yes, absolutely!

Any other result would be Toast territory.

Yes, unless you are doing the trade on day 1 of each season without doing anything else first in either case.

I am.

I'm also finding the same trade, made as manager of one team, being rejected if I play as manager of a different team--both done the very first thing I do after setup.

Try this yourself. (I've done it twice, now, & gotten the same result.) Run setup for 1935. Make yourself manager of the White Sox, & offer Sewell to the Browns for Walkup. I get a "no deal, we want more" with Bonura the #1 add. That goes through. Terminate the program, restart, & make yourself manager of the Browns: now, the Sox reject the trade....

Why would you expect the result to be the same. Give me a justification for it?

I'm actually impressed that this happens. It puts a nail in the coffin of the pre-determined crowd.

Bottom line is; each version of the game is a separate event and one can never assume that any result should happen. I consider this a non-issue. Randomness rules.

So now wait a minute, I don't see the problem here.

As the GM of the White Sox, you offer a trade to the Browns that they agree to. There is absolutely zero reason to expect the White Sox to automatically be okay with the same offer if you're the GM of the Browns - who says the trade is fair on both sides?

If you were GM of the Yankees and offered Babe Ruth to a team for their backup catcher, of course that team is going to say yes. But if you turn around and offer your backup catcher for Babe Ruth, what would you expect the Yankees to say to that?
