Anyone else seen this happen?
So, I'm in the offseason in my MLB/fictional game and international free agents have just been created. I see a young reliever from Cuba named Ernesto Salcido who looks promising and I go to make him an offer. He wants a minor league contract with a bonus of $270,000 so I'm thinking done deal. I match his offer and he comes back to me in a couple of days saying Arizona has made him a better offer. I look and he now wants a minor league deal with a bonus of $360,000. No problem, I match his offer and sim a couple more days. Then I get this message:
Really? An extension?!? Something seemed off so I open up his player profile: Looks like he wants $410,000 now with a minor league deal. Okay, still not a problem. So I click on "Offer Contract" and this deal breaker comes up: I realize other teams may be after this guy. He looks promising. But it seems like a really drastic jump to go from a minor league contract with a $410,000 bonus to a three year major league deal at almost $15 million per. Is there anywhere I can see what teams have made offers to him? |

I've seen it before.
I think the game goes by lowest offer first and you're competing with that. Kind of like going up the rungs on a ladder. The Yankees obviously think he's a starter or something. |

Yeah I get that. But to suddenly go from a minor league deal to that huge offer seems a bit off. That's why I was hoping to see what all the other offers were that led up to that and see why his player profile didn't mention that he wanted a major league deal.

The Yankees probably just have a different, more optimistic, scouting report than you do and thus value him more highly. He also has the stamina to easily be a starter, so if they see him as a starter they'll value him more highly. |

Yeah, I dunno, logically I'd think there must've been other offers. But I don't know any way to actually find out if there were or not. |
