Difference between OSA ratings and Scout ratings.
This may be a dumb newbie question, but what's the difference? Is OSA the global rating? Is it more accurate? If so, can I disable it? Also if so, what's the point of having a scout?
A secondary question, why are all the players already scouted by my scout? What is the point of requesting a scouting report? Thanks for your help. |

In recent versions the OSA scouts were like a bunch of underpaid independant scouts. The OSA ratings were very inaccurate. As I understand it OSA is more accurate now, but it's still far away from being 100% accurate. So you can use it as a second opinion to your scout's report, but it won't give you the true ratings.
The players are scouted by your scout initially. But take those reports with a grain of salt as reports should get more accurate the more looks the scout got at the players. So requesting a scouting report will add data and will help you get a more accurate view of that player. |

Thanks for the reply. So can I disable OSA or do I have to just not look at it?
I havn't tested it thoroughly, but when ever I request a scouting report, it's not different then the one before. When you request a report is it any more detailed then the one that generates bi-monthly(by default)? |

In theory, the more often your scout "sees" a player, the more accurate his scouting report will become. It won't become more detailed than the ones generated bi-monthly, but you can assume that it'll get more accurate (depending on how good your scout is). |

Don't forget that your scout may emphasize certain qualities over others, as compared to OSA -- I like switching between the two in the mid to later rounds to take a chance on certain players.

Yeah, it's always best to get more than just one opinion on certain players...so you do want to keep both the OSA ratings and the ratings from your own scout just to compare the two. Sometimes they aren't accurate but they do help in evaluating just the same.
