For several of my planned leagues, I will need many team and league-related logos and uniforms, and I am not as skilled as many here, at least in terms of my usual artistic abilities, in my view. And I don't necessarily want to use the standard logos, either, of course, if I don't absolutely have to, in certain cases.
I will need logos for leagues such as the American Federal Baseball Union, the North American Baseball Association, the Canacolu League, and the United States Baseball League, for just a few examples of leagues I will likely need logos for, at the very least. I have teams in mind such as the Pittsburgh Pythons, the Charleston Miners, the Philadelphia Renaissancers, and the Boston Masterminds, but I don't think I have the necessary skill at possibly designing decent enough-looking logos and/or caps and/or uniforms for them without having to use at least two of the currently-available logos I now have related to the game, if not more. Do you have any recommendations about people who might be able to provide the needed logos, et cetera, well enough, for possible use by me and others in various saved games, by any chance, anyone? try the mods section, under logos graphics. some might be willing to help, or maybe things are already there you can use. There is a HUGE amount of things they've archived, but i am not certain where. Those guys are fantastic, but also do it out of the goodness of their heart and free time isn't always disposable.

Well, I'm doing as suggested, by putting players into one file for every team, but when I try to import 30 players at a time per team, it seems not all 30 players are importing at the same time, for some reason, when they probably should be, when I have the proper player IDs listed in each said file. Don't know why, but it doesn't seem to be doing so right now, when it should. Any more advice you might have for me here? I so far have had to manually import a few for the Red Sox, White Sox, Indians, and Tigers, and I still have 28 more teams to do, at the very least, it seems, if not more, for at least one or two leagues in total. It is really easy to make typos in your text file. I tried to copy the player IDs from baseball reference instead of typing them in. I would create a file for each team ie) red sox_import.txt. I would verify that the players imported in-game. If a player did not import, double check the offending line. I also made a temporary file that I could use to import a player or two who did not import originally. I don't remember if you re-import the original file again if you will have duplicates. Once you successfully import a player copy and paste the line to your original text file. I only imported MLB players so I did not deal with using different databases. You will need to import the players again if you are using a different source database. As far as I know you can import players that did not exist on a DB and nothing will happen. For example a MLB player will not import from a DB that has Japan League players. So you can have Sadaharu Oh in a text file that includes Negro League or MLB players. You don't need to create multiple text files for one team. AFAIK.
If you are creating minor leagues at the same time, they can all use the same text file. For example: posadjo01, 2003,swb dickebi01, 1937,nyy This will import Jorge Posada to Scranton-Wilkes Barre and Bill Dickey to the NY Yankees. SWB is the abbreviation found on the league & teams settings page. |

first 30 players listed for each team, the thing worked, after many tries, but I just tried to add ten players to the list for each team, to bring them up to 40 players each. And when I try to import the players to the applicable teams now, it says the historical players import fails, and I do have the box checked to include players in the minor league database as well, of course. Never mind, think I found it, I saw taveros, when it should probably have been taveras, in one of the lines for St. Louis Cardinals players, at least. It was taveras earlier, I think. Must have accidentally changed it while adding new players, or something. If you see any other possible errors in the above list, please let me know. Thank you. Dovatha out. P.S. is your team list on the end correct? maybe the CHW should be CHA? your PHP maybe PHI? NYG - maybe NY1? WHS, maybe WS1 or WAS?
i don't know what exactly the team IDs are in your game, but historically the endings i typed are what the game uses or did use (based on a .csv file i looked at). i am of course assuming your game is a semi- historical and you haven't changed/edited any of the settings on the team ID set-up page. This may not be the issue, but main option is to try them one at a time, possibly just putting them into FA pool or something, to see if they import without the team listed at the back. If they do, you can edit them to the correct team in commish mode under player edit. If they do, then you know it's the team ID issue. If they don't, then my guess is there's an issue with the player ID not being correct.

No, CWS is correct because I've given the Chicago Whales the CHW letters. PHP is correct, and so are NYG and WSH, because they worked before when I imported a previous version of the applicable file, in terms of adding the applicable players to the desired teams. And now, both the 30-player version and the version with the added players are not working, even though I have the following designations for the teams: BOS for Boston Red Sox CWS for Chicago White Sox CLE for Cleveland Indians DET for Detroit Tigers NYY for New York Yankees PHA for Philadelphia Athletics SLA for St. Louis Browns WSH for Washington Senators (Might use WAS for another DC team later) BSN for Boston Braves BKN for Brooklyn Dodgers (Might use BRO for another Brooklyn team later) CHC for Chicago Cubs CIN for Cincinnati Reds NYG for New York Giants PHP for Philadelphia Phillies (Might use PHN for another Philly team later) PIT for Pittsburgh Pirates SLN for St. Louis Cardinals (Might use STL or SLC for other teams later) So I wonder if my problem is with the IDs. Am using the BB-Ref IDs where possible, and the Negro League IDs in the file you attached earlier as well, if necessary, and the Negro League players I've selected using those IDs seem to be importing properly now, if I remember correctly, mitchkenn. For instance CHW = Franchise ID but CHA is the team ID.
Unless you have changed them.

For some reason, the last couple of posts don't seem to have wanted to paragraph properly, and I don't know why. And apparently, they're still not paragraphing properly, either. Also, when I try to use an earlier version of the player lists for at least one or two different leagues, at least, something seems to be messing up, although I know I didn't change the second file I had used to import historical players for my AFBU, even with the box for the minor league database being checked as well. If I could attach files to my posts, and knew how, or how to paste in images, et cetera, I could probably show you guys what I have currently. I mean, I was doing as advised, with the player list files and all, and after I cleared the rosters again in the appropriate two leagues and deleted the resulting free agents, so that I could perhaps reimport the updated players list or lists, at least for my MLB league in that game, into the applicable game's league or leagues as needed, it decided not to let me reimport those players as desired, et cetera.
As for why my posts aren't paragraphing now, or weren't, just now, I don't know what's going on here. Any reason why they may not be paragraphing now as they should, if they're still not doing so? Either there's something possibly wrong with the file, or something possibly wrong with the import function at the moment, at least, it seems. Because I know I'm using all the proper IDs and team designations as I currently have them set in that game, if I remember correctly. All 32 applicable teams had 30 players each, earlier today, but after I cleared the rosters, and deleted the related free agents, and then tried to re-import later, with the updated MLB player list file I had, using the additional IDs I got from BB-Ref, it started acting up, for some reason. If I can ever get this totally working, it will be primarily fictional in terms of league setups, at least. For Major League Baseball and the American Federal Baseball Union, at least, I will try to manually add players to each year's draft pool, so that there is less of a chance that unintentional appearances of historical players happen, seeing as I will be using historical players, at least at first, in those leagues, from all over known baseball history, running from 1871 to 2016 or 2017, at the least, with periodically added fictional players as well.
The players of this game would be starting from 1901, and begin playing with selected players already placed on all-time rosters that I will have specially selected, at least at first. They wouldn't necessarily have all the same players as the default All-Time Greatest quickstart might have, mind you, but I wanted to try to spread out the talented players better, if at all possible, among the applicable 32 teams here from both MLB and the AFBU. MLB would have the classic 16 teams from the NL and AL, while the AFBU would have the other fourteen current MLB teams and two other teams to balance out the MLB's league setup, with the other two teams being the New Jersey Generals and Chicago Whales of the Federal League. The Continental League teams would be the Diamondbacks, the Angels, the Rockies, the Colt 45's/Astros, the Royals, the Padres, the Mariners, and the Rangers, while the Federal League would consist of the Whales, the Marlins, the Brewers, the Expos, the Generals, the Mets, the Devil Rays, and the Blue Jays. Of course, the NL and AL would have the proper teams as well for each of them. As for parks to eventually use for each of those 32 teams, if and when I can ever get this thing totally set up as needed and desired here, what parks would you recommend for possible use for each of those teams? For the older teams, at the very least, I'd really like to use more classic stadiums, if possible. And not necessarily the current ones either, for that matter. Please advise, if and when you like. How can I import certain Japanese players that may not have played in MLB before into my setup, by any chance? Players like Sadaharu Oh, for instance? I have tried to import them into at least one of my current game setups, but I seem to be unable to do so at this time, at least. Or how can I perhaps add them to a manually-created draft pool or something, somehow, if I may ask? Please advise as soon as possible, if and when you like, folks, if you don't mind too much here. Looked through the file you suggested, but did not see Sadaharu Oh's code there, for instance. Was thinking about selecting 192 players mostly on a random basis for the possible future 1901 Amateur First-Year Player Draft, possibly including historical Japanese players, but am still having at least a little trouble with doing so, it seems to me, right now.
