2029 - No Hitter #16
Anibal Sanchez of the Atlanta Braves recorded his 2nd career no hitter today as the Atlanta Braves defeated the Binghamton Swallows 2-0 on the road at Harper Stadium. Sanchez fanned 12 batters in the game and walked just one to improve to 12-6 this season. Atlanta was able to score 2 runs in the 7th inning as Mule Haas hit an RBI double. Randy Winn drew the lone walk as Sanchez was not able to pitch the perfect game which would have given him 2 career perfect games.
It was the second no hitter of the Month for Atlanta as Bobby Mitchell no hit the New York Mets earlier in the month. Sanchez hurled a perfect game in 2028 against the Duluth Champions. Atlanta now has 5 no hitters with 2 each by Mitchell and Sanchez and one by Frank Smith. This was the 2nd time that Binghamton has been no hit with Henry Boyle accomplishing that feat in 2027 for the Milwaukee Brewers |

2027 - No Hitter #17
Lee Viau of the St Thomas Snappers tossed a perfect game today as St Thomas beat the Toronto Blue Jays at home 5-0. Viau retired all 27 batters he faced and struck out 8 to improve to 13-11 on the season. Richard Hidalgo hit his 32nd homer for St Thomas and collected 3 hits to help Viau out.
This was the first no hitter in St Thomas Snappers history. Oddly it was the third time that Toronto has been no hit. Eppa Rixey when with the Baltimore Orioles got it done in 2021 and Dallas Braden pitched one in 2026 for the Maine Attack against the Jays. |

2029 - Report #49
Just 15 games left, after next series we still get the pennant chase reports with most divisions not heavily contested.
Jimmy Sheckard of the Chicago White Sox won American League player of the week. Sheckard hit 7 homers and drove in 19 runs for the Chisox who are fading in their chances to catch the Indianapolis Bulldogs in the AL Central. Sheckard has broken through in 2029 with 48 homers and 133 RBI's National League top honors went to Danny Santana of the Las Vegas Snake Eyes. Santana had a very impressive 20 hits in 29 at bats with 11 homers and 25 RBI's, this week a career for some. He has 54 homers and 165 RBI's this year but Las Vegas is fading trying to catch the Colorado Rockies in the NL West. Bruce Spingsteen remains red hot for the Cheyenne Black Aces as they blanked the Galveston Whitehawks 9-0 on the road at Glen Campbell Stadium. The Boss improves to 10-10 with the 3 hitter and struck out 10 and walked 1 in the game. Milt Bolling homered and drove in 4 runs to lead Cheyenne in this game. Derrel Thomas had 2 of the 3 hits for Galveston in the thumping. The Baton Rouge Warbirds fell short on the road 4-3 today against the Nashville Judges at Bridgewater Tire Stadium, but veteran Sherry Magee hit his 300th homer of his career. Magee hit a 2 run shot off of Nashville starter Dave Fleming in the 5th inning but Baton Rouge lost the game. Magee hit 64 homers in 2024 for the Omaha Eagles and hit most of his homers for Omaha between 2022 and 2027. Mort Cooper of the NL Pacific leading Honolulu Riptide pitched a solid 1 hit shutout on the road against the Perth Wallabys 9-0 at Ledger Park. Cooper improves to 13-6 with 11 strikeouts and 2 walks in the game. The only hit by Perth was by 39 year old Joe Stripp. Josh Reddick hit 2 homers and drove in 5 runs to carry Honolulu. The Toronto Blue Jays have lost reliever Elmer Leonard for the year with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He was 3-1 with 6 saves and a 2.40 ERA for Toronto this year. Doc McJames remains torrid for the Wall Street Black Cats as he struck out 15 batters day as Wall Street took down the Tucson Tomahawks 7-5 on the road at Wildcat Stadium. McJames fanned 15 over 6 innings where he just allowed 1 run and 4 hits and is now 13-4 on the season. Chris Davis hit 2 homers and drove in 3 runs for Wall Street to lead the offense. The Tahiti River Sharks announced that veteran SP Ed Karger is done for the season with a torn rotator cuff. The 38 year old veteran was 6-2 with a 3.09 ERA so hopefully this injury does not end his career. |

Brawl in Scranton
The oddness of a brawl between fictional famous players in a 224 team league with about 200 fictional famous players entering the league each year is rare. Today in Scranton at Dunder Mifflin Park, there was a bench clearing brawl between the Sarasota Typhoon and the Scranton Owls. REM lead singer Michael Stipe went headhunting and threw a fast ball at Eric Trump's head. The benches emptied.
Michael Stipe was quote as saying "It was the confluence of events. First you have Mike Piazza staring and watching a home run hit and as an openly umm player... to see a closeted guy gallivant was tough. Then Trump and his whole family, I had just wanted to knock him out and I am the guy who sings Everybody Hurts" Trump seemed to be angered by the incident. "He threw at me and he is a wimpy guy and well my Dad told me never to back down from a fight if you are 8 inches taller than the opponent." |
