Am considering the idea of whether or not to create at least one collegiate league for the United States in my Cosmic Baseball 001 saved game/dynasty, at the very least. But not sure what part of the United States to start it off in, for the upcoming 1882 season, just yet, unfortunately.

Any recommendations for colleges and universities to incorporate into said saved game/dynasty? I want to start small, of course, at first. If I don't have the sets I will need for them, then I plan to either download or make them, if and when I can.

I'm not sure whether I should start in the Northeast, the mid-Atlantic, the South, the Great Lakes, the Midwest, the Great Plains, the Southwest, the Northwest, or the Pacific Coast/Ocean and Alaska, as of yet. I'm thinking perhaps of starting in the Northeast, and go from there, but I've not yet decided that.

Until the next post, then, I'll close this post, at least, in fact. CD out

SIAU has drafted their next bunch of players for their eight teams, all of which are 17 or 18 years old. All those who are now 24 years old and over have aged out, and may already be playing for other teams in the game world, whichever those are. More information about the Cosmic Baseball 001 game world later, when and where possible, necessary, appropriate, and desired, of course, folks. CD out.

Teams that will likely be promoted to the SCL from the EDA are the Eugene Emeralds and the Jupiter Hammerheads, while those likely to be relegated to the EDA from the SCL are the Biloxi Shuckers and the Grand Junction Rockies. I think I will want to rename the Biloxi Shuckers, but not sure what. Any suggestions?

As for the NABA, it is a three-team dogfight, so to speak, with six games to play, between the Augusta Colonials, the Washington Generals, and the Kentucky Colonels. The Colonials and Generals are tied at 63-43, and the Colonels are a game back at 62-44. The game seems to think the odds are slightly in favor of the Colonials, but I'm still hoping the Generals will pull it out. I foresee a potential tiebreaking situation here, with three teams at better than 50 percent chance of winning the league, seeing as there are not going to be any playoffs after the regular season in it.

The Generals and Colonials are going to finish the regular season in a head-to-head series, it seems. So whoever wins that series has a very good chance to win the league here, if Kentucky doesn't win out. Augusta has Birmingham and Washington left on its schedule, Washington has Boston and Augusta left, and Charleston and Nashville are left on the Colonels' schedule.

Nashville is likely to finish last in the league, Charleston seventh, Birmingham either fifth or sixth, whichever Boston doesn't, and Boston is probably not going to get fourth, ahead of Brooklyn, which is likely to finish in fourth.

So who's going to win the NABA? Guess we'll just have to wait and see, won't we?

Tran City and Amjasi seem to be in the driver's seats for the GSA and the NUA at present, with ten games to play for the SBC. Although Tracyton is still in contention a game back of Tran City in the GSA part of the SBC, and so are the Artists of Sarahnapool two games back of the Farmers in the NUA part of it. The Scholars are not likely to catch the Lumberjacks of Tran City, being eight and a half games out, with eleven to play, but compared to the past couple of years, they have a chance to finish close to, if not over, .500 for the season.

As for the MLB, Detroit and Philadelphia currently lead their subleagues, and a few teams are close to either of them. Half of the AL is under .500, and two of five in the NL are, with those two teams under .500 in the NL being the Reds and the Grays, of Cincinnati and Providence, respectively. Providence needs a power hitter, among other things, but has not yet found one.

Will write more later, no doubt. Things to do and all, of course. CD out.

Teams not yet eliminated in the GSA are the Lumberjacks, Artists, and Scholars, but the Scholars' elimination number is one. Four teams have not yet been eliminated in the NUA, but Olsonton and Shmala are the next likely ones to be for that part of the SBC, with Olsonton's elimination number being at two and Shmala's at three.

Tran City leads Tracyton by a game with nine to play for both teams. While the difference between Amjasi and Sarahnapool is a game as well, with ten games left for both teams.

As far as the current standings in the GSA, Rocíoton can do no better than a tie for fifth, but are not likely to catch Willson, which sits in fifth at present. Willson is three games behind Slaabojevo with a current record of 46-55 for themselves. Slaabojevo will finish anywhere between third and fifth, but will not finish sixth, for they are too far ahead of the Black Guards. Folliston sits at 50-50, a game ahead of Slaabojevo, and must win out and have a lot of help to even have a chance to tie for second, although they are likely under the same circumstances as Slaabojevo and Willson currently are. The GSA will be won by either Tracyton or Tran City, and those two teams will play each other in the second-to-last scheduled regular-season series of the year for them both, in a two-game series.

As far as the NUA goes, at present, from the bottom up, we have Sara City sitting at 37-64 with nine games to play, in the cellar, eight back of Benclimil at 45-56. Sara City can do no better than fifth, but are likely going to finish in the cellar. Benclimil can do no better than 54-56, and third, but fifth place is their likely outcome. Olsonton sits at 51-50, and is still not eliminated, but likely will finish no better than third, because both Amjasi and Sarahnapool are probably too far ahead of them. Shmala is a game ahead of Olsonton at 52-49, likely destined for third, and they can finish no worse than fifth in the NUA. Sarahnapool (58-42) and Amjasi (59-41) will duke it out, so to speak, in a three-game series, in the second-to-last scheduled series of their regular season, and the winner of that series may ultimately take the subleague championship, who will then face off against the winner of the GSA for the league title.

More information later, when and where possible and appropriate and all, of course, everyone. CD out.

Six games to play for both the Lumberjacks and the Artists. The Tran City Lumberjacks lead by three games, so the Tracyton Artists must win. The Lumberjacks' magic number to clinch is four.

As for the race between the Amjasi Farmers and the Sarahnapool Archeologists, there are seven games left for both teams. And the lead for Amjasi is two games, with a magic number of six to clinch the NUA.

Will write more later. CD out.

Kentucky is out of the race in the NABA, and Augusta must win to stay alive with three games to play in the regular season. Washington has clinched at least a tie for the league title, it seems, and the worst that Augusta can do is tie for second with the Colonels. Augusta leads the Generals in the season series, so in the event of any tie-breaking game being necessary, I would expect that game to be in Augusta. If Augusta wins their next three games, they will win the league. If two of the three remaining ones, there will be a tie. Anything less that two wins in the next three games for the Colonials will give the league title to the Generals for the year, and lock Augusta into second.

Brooklyn will finish fourth. Boston will likely finish fifth, but Birmingham can only tie them for fifth, at most. Birmingham will finish anywhere between a tie for fifth and seventh, with sixth being most probable. If that is the case, Charleston will be seventh, for Nashville is locked into last place.

More information later, when and where possible and appropriate and all, of course, folks. CD out.

Folliston will not advance to the playoffs, as I thought they might not. But they will do better than what the preseason predictions thought they might have done, by at least two games, with seven yet to play.

Tran City was predicted to take the GSA by 16, but the final margin will not be that great, and several teams did worse than predicted, or will, most likely. The order of finish in the GSA was expected to be Tran City, Tracyton, Willson, Slaabojevo, Folliston, and Rocíoton, in that order. The probable order of finish in the GSA is currently Tran City, Tracyton, Folliston, Slaabojevo, Willson, and Rocíoton, although positions three to five possibly may still change in the final standings. Folliston still has a slim chance to at least tie Tracyton for second, but can no longer catch Tran City for first. The Black Guards are locked into last place in the GSA, but not yet into last for the entire SBC.

As for the NUA, Amjasi and Sarahnapool are still alive. Shmala and Olsonton are now out, but depending on how things shake out, either or both could possibly catch Sarahnapool. Shmala finishes the regular season with the Farmers, while Olsonton finishes with the Archeologists. Sarahnapool is two games behind, with three games left to play for sure against Amjasi. So they have to win, in order to have any real chance to face either Tran City or Tracyton, as the NUA representative in the upcoming league playoffs.

More information to follow later, of course, everyone. CD out.

As for Major League baseball, as of July 27, 1881, the Detroit Wolverines currently lead the Boston Red Caps in the AL by two, and Worcester by three and a half. The Brown Stockings are in fourth by percentage points over the Blues and the Athletics. There are about forty or so games to play, more or less, for most of the teams in the AL.

In the NL, the Centennials currently lead the Mutuals and the Trojans by the equivalent of five and a half games. The White Stockings are right behind those two, the equivalent of another game back, although some tieams in both subleagues have not yet played the same number of games with each other in the season. Buffalo is just under .500, while Cincinnati and Providence are currently below .400. with Cincinnati at .382 and Providence at .340 at present. It appears quite probable at this point that Providence will end up at the bottom of the NL, when the season is over, for multiple reasons.

Much more information later, as possible and all, of course, folks. CD out.

Actually, Washington had not yet clinched a tie, but now that they have won the first two games of their series with Augusta, Augusta MUST win out to have a chance at the league title. Depending on how those two games go, Kentucky might be able to tie Augusta, but if they don't, they will finish third. Brooklyn and everyone below them is locked into their respective final positions for the season with two games left to play.

Sarahnapool closes the gap to one game behind Amjasi, by beating Amjasi in game 104 by a score of 8-2. But they still must win, to have a chance to advance.

Seven games are left for each team in the SCL regular season, in both the George and Abraham Leagues. Aberdeen (74-31), Potomac (73-32), and the Tri-City ValleyCats (69-36) are still alive in the George League, while Mobile, Bowie, Hickory, Bristol, and Biloxi are out. Either Biloxi or Bristol in that subleague will be relegated to the EDA after the post-season is over in the SCL. As for the Abraham League, only Staten Island, South Bend, and Reno can win there. Staten Island and South Bend are tied at 62-43, and Reno is four games back of them both. The game currently gives Staten Island the edge for the Abraham League title. Teams below Reno are, in current order, Princeton, Modesto, Lake Elsinore, Reading, and Grand Junction. Everyone above Reading is safe from possible relegation to the EDA. Grand Junction is three back of Reading, and is more likely to be relegated than Reading is.

Princeton can still potentially catch Reno, but chances are not good for them to be able to do that. The best the Nuts can do, depending on how things play out, is to catch, but not pass, Reno. The Storm can't catch anyone from Reno and up, and are quite likely to finish fifth or sixth. At best, Reading can catch Lake Elsinore, and at worst, fall below Grand Junction. The best the Rockies can do is 47 wins, but Reading has 43 now. So chances are quite good that Grand Junction will finish in the cellar of the Abraham League, leaving Reading still in the SCL.

More information later, obviously. CD out.
