I've been kicking the tires around creating a Big World but this is purely fictional. Why does it say semi-fictional? Because some of the team names are teams that are non-existent at this point, or was rumored/used elsewhere.

Post 2 will be reserved for documentation purposes of what leagues.

This is not a start from 2022, 2023, or 2024 with no league histories. These leagues will have a full stats history along with relocation, relegation/promotion where available, expansion, leagues going defunct and teams aborting leagues, tournaments. This was what I was aiming for with Big World 23. This is being called Mega World!

All credit for artwork, add-ons, etc will be provided.

I've made it to the debut of the Continental League and the Cuban crisis where they are abolished from the World Cup for a length of time.

Also, to try and properly simulate how the world was, Eastern bloc countries are on lock down like the Cuban League was for many years. On top of that, you have countries that split up (Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Netherlands Antilles) that have to be properly accounted for as well.

What does this mean?

Quite a lot, really. Setting up league pyramids, balanced tables, and making sure I don't miss an expansion window because I'm calculating and doing stuff based on international tournaments (I did that with India oops), this is a blast! I've still got more leagues to add during the 80s, as well as expansion, pro/reg setups, etc.

If you are asking yourself, "what's a league pyramid or table," it is the European way of talking league structures as well as their standings, or table as they call it. The league pyramids for France, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands, and England are setup. These either just have the second division, or they have all the way down to the fourth table in a league or will be by the time we get there.

The game now has 40 playable leagues and 16 tournaments!! Of the 40 playable leagues: 9 are MLB-level, 11 are minors of parent leagues, and 20 international leagues. The breakdown below is by the numbers:

62: The amount of countries that have participated in tournaments thru 1980!
40: Playable leagues
24: The amount of countries that currently participate in the Baseball World Cup
16: Amount of total tournaments, club and national, that are in-game
11: amount of minor leagues
5: Amount of league structures that have a promotion/relegation system in place. From Level to Level 2, or all the way to Level 4 (Hello, Italy!).
4: The amount of leagues with a minor league system in place.
4: Also the amount of leagues in the Italian baseball pyramid.
3: The amount of league-pyramid levels that England and Spain have set up.
1: The one person building the league is actually enjoying doing these listings, as well as building a Google sheet full of results (just order of league/division finish and/or possible playoff finish, etc. No records so far).

I may just make the sheet available to view!

Quick update: The original broke and I spent the last two weeks rebuilding everything. So, as a teaser, I plan on releasing a BETA "preview" nonetheless called "1970."

You will have the ability to begin a quickstart with any of the leagues and teams that are in the world up until that point.

NOTE: You would have to cycle teams in the Champions and Nations Leagues. If you do not do so, I recommend going into the editor, removing each team, then deleting the league.

If you don't feel like changing up the teams that play in the World Cup (since there's no design in the code to have qualifiers and I manually do them myself with the continental tournaments), you should turn the team selection process to automatically selected by nation talent, which would give you practically the 16 best countries with player quality.

I'll be doing other releases down the road for this for a Road To 2024: 1982 (CL decides to add the Division Series after MLB's 1981 strike), 1996 (CL exceeds while MLB is on strike which begins their ultimate demise by greed and the UL begins play, providing nearly 40 ML teams in North America), 2010, and the final one in 2024.


REMEMBER: This is fictional. MLB or any actual players are not in the game and this is not built from a historical season. If any mentions of MLB are in this, its referring to that other league.
