Game crashes on sim

Won't get past my next scheduled game -- and it crashes if I click the specific sim on my game.

Only I can avoid crashing is to MANUALLY click each game "sim" and make my team's game the LAST to be simmed (manually).

Arduous.

OOTP6 Stops Responding ....

On several occassions I have tried both manually and using the "sim" mode to play about 8 days worth of games but every time I get to the 7th or 8th game, the league schedule for "current day" (this would be for the 8th or 9th game day) appears without the "play" or "sim" option available in every teams boxscore format or schedule.

In short, this will not allow me to play any games from this day forward.

My computer is Pentium 486 with 20GB and over 500MB Ram and all the other good stuff. Never had this problem with OOTP5.

As far as I can tell, there is no sense playing with OOTP6 until this problem is addressed. However, I do like the apprearance and feel of your new version and I'm sure it will be as big of a hit as were your earlier versions. Good luck with the bugs.

Did you try using the drop down "sim day" option when this happened? Not that it shouldn't work the other way, but until this issue is resolved.

Steve

Yes, I've tried playing both manaually, where I control one computer team and, automatically where I use the simulate day or week mode from the top menu.

In both modes the "play" and "sim" buttons in each teams league schedule box is blanked out.

In the sim mode, there is a msg in the lower left corner saying that the program is "finishing week" but the program does not move beyond that and the game stops responding - in other words "freezes" up.

Also, I can get no game sound either. Not that this is a critical issue at this point but when I enable "game sound" and then go to the last screen to "Play ball" - a box opens up saying that the game is "initializing game sounds" but it never closes and the game will not commence.

The one weeks worth of games that I can play work ok as long as "game sounds" and disabled.

Do you think the glitch or bug has anything to do with "finishing up week" statistics? Thus, not getting to the activation of the next days or other future games. All the teams and their schedules show up as they should. Its just that there are no buttons to "play" game or "sim" game and when I click on the simulate "day" or "week" or "month" etc buttons at the top I am given the msg that this is not the "current date."

Hope this helps

Did you check the teams for the same player starting at two different positions in the depth chart and lineup?

Yes. Already did Auto-Depth and Auto-Lineup and even did Auto-Pitching Staff too.

No dice.

I'm not asking about "auto" stuff, at this point I'm talking about manually checking. Yes it is time consuming but I'm interested in finding out if the same thing I discovered this morning is what is causing this problem.

No Go On Auto!

Same here - its "No Go On Auto"

Game will not generate "todays schedule" of games after 7 or 8 days of games.

See my earlier posts.

Angry

I'm having same problem, but can't even sim to day 7. Looked at depth chart, rosters, staffs, lineups of all teams for redundancies, etc... Nothing there and still crashing.

Frustrating. Is there something else I should try? Look at?
How long do patches usually take?

I was pshyched to jam to this game all weekend and i'm frustrated. good luck to the team. what i see looks good--which makes it even more frustrating.

eMarlin,

You say you can't sim, so do you click "sim day" in the schedule screen and nothing happens? Thisd may sound stupid but the more specific info we have the easier to pinpoint the problems and the quicker we may get your game running which is what both of us want.

Well, no matter what sort of simming I do, the game crashes to Windows:

a) Sim a season
b) Sim a day
c) Sim by clicking "Play" on a specific game then Simming to the end in-game.

Does this happen with one specific league, type of league or all types?

I meant are you using a roster set, fictional players, etc? Because if you've just played using a roster set and tried all these things it might very well be the roster set and not the game.
