Draft rounds

Trying to remember, but does anyone know how many rounds you should have in a custom league, relative to the number of teams? I am doing a custom league with no minors and only reserve rosters. I've also considered having no draft and having players populate as free agents but am worried if enough would populate.

5 or 6 round should do it.
