Calgary and Winnipeg? You suck
Flames & Jets only NHL teams that refuse to pay arena workers during stoppage.

You wonder if these teams did what they did with heads down, then looked up and said "Uh oh. Calgary/Winnipeg is the only other team in this situation? We'd better hope Calgary/Winnipeg doesn't cave. 'Til then, though, we got each other!"

"Mr. Chipman! Mr. Chipman! Calgary just announced that they ARE going to help their part-time workers!" "Gosh darn that John Bean. What is he, made of money? Well, don't just stand there. I want a plan for the least, and I mean the least amount of money that we have to shell out to those scroungers and still look like we're on board with this nonsense. See if they will accept non-cash assistance like those hot dog buns that are going to go stale anyway. Hop to it!"

Even if teams could make a case that it's not their responsibility to pay workers for not working, it very bizarre to think that they don't realize that:
1. Agreeing to pay them is good pub. 2. Deciding not to pay them is TERRIBLE pub. |
