Unknown how the new features in OOTP17 will affect this database at this time.
Those players will be in the next release for OOTP16 though.

With the new addition of minor leagues in OOTP17 the first planned change is to use all real stats rather than MLE's and to use real teams and leagues affiliated or not. Players on teams and in leagues that do not exist in OOTP17 will be free agents. This db may only consist of players not in OOTP17.
The database will then have the Japanese leagues split out separately as well as the KBO. Fullish Negro/Cuban Leagues will be created using BBref and Seamheads data. Timetable is unknown as is will any of this work at all.

Add Ons Central
This is probably a dumb question and has been answered somewhere else; but is there a way to get the Spritze current database into Add Ons Central in OOTP16?
Thank you in advance. |

A past administrator of add-ons central was not a fan of this database and did not want to waste the space housing it. I have not enquired since. They can download it and put it on their site if they choose.

If I were to start a 1903 historical replay using your database, what minor leaguers would it include? Just PCL and major leaguers?

Some Negro and Cuban players but not many. A few Minor League stars as well.

There's the 1903 PCL, or at least everyone who played in it. This is outstanding.

I am using the Spritze High School database, but am still getting players in the draft that are 28 years old, etc. I also am not seeing any Negro League or Asian players. I have a league that uses random players from all eras. What do you think I am doing wrong? I have simulated several seasons, so it is definitely not working the way I have it set up.
The database appears to be going to the Spritze HS for OOTP16. |

From your description you are still picking rookies from the db that comes with OOTP16.

I always rename the files that came with the game and put mine in the stats folder.

I generally have 3 stats folders, the original, stats_ootp and stats_spritze and copy from ootp and sprite as needed. I can to do that more than switching db path when I create a new game

When I go to the folder with the historical_database file, that file is grayed out. Do you know what I am doing wrong?
Thanks |

Been a while since I downloaded a spritze from the web, but first their might be a folder (Same name) inside the folder. So if you just put the unzipped spritze folder into the game nothing will happen. So that is step one. Then before I move the folder into OOTP16 I rename it (sprtzhs) or something like that. Then I just move it in, so I then have a stats folder (the historical folder that comes with the game) and then the sprtzhs folder. Only matter when I start a game, I just have to check on the first setup page am I linked to the MASTER fie in the folder I want...and I choose nuetralized to have access to more players. Then works fine every time for me Good luck |

Ootp 17
Can I just copy my Spritze HS database over from 16 to 17 out of the stats file?

Not sure. I wouldn't until you get the OK from Spritze because it looks to me like there are a lot of differences between OOTP16 and OOTP17 so far. For one thing there's no Master file in OOTP17 for me to go toodling around in. I'm sure it's a big ask, but I would've liked to have seen one so I can opt out of the full minor league players set and sprinkle in some minor leaguers that I want to use. I play with reserve rosters, so using full minor leagues is not really a good option in my case. It's good that the full minor leagues are available and Spritze did a whale of a job putting it all together though. Maybe I'm being a bit Debbie Downerish.

The Spritze database goes dead for OOTP17. Any minor league players you probably want to use are already there. I am working on fully compatible Negro, Japanese, KBO and 1871-1918 minor league player databases though. Those players can then be imported into the game. Each will come with a BigRod list for import that can be edited. At least that is the plan as planned by the planning committee which consists of only one planner (me!).

It would be 160,000 lines long. That is quite a list.
