Your thread was not deleted it was moved to the Logged Issues forum.
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ger-valid.html Once a bug has been confirmed, it gets a BZ # and is moved to the Logged Issues forum until such time as it is resolved when it is then moved to the Fixed forum. THIS thread may get deleted, however!

Actually this was an outstanding BZ during the beta (towards the end), and there seemed to be some confusion about whether it was really a bug or not. So the timing for a fix is uncertain, I think.
The work around you are using (de-license, then re-license) is the easiest way to deal with the problem when it occurs. One other thing you can try (I've been doing this to fix some other, relatively rare, Mac problems I had during the beta) is to replace the OOTP application with a fresh copy. Just the application itself, not the whole game (I hope that's clear). I actually have a spare copy kept around for just that purpose. There are one or more Mac specific files embedded in that application that (I think) can get damaged and start causing random problems. Not saying you need to do that, but it may be useful info. Plus I don't know for sure that it fixes this specific problem. |

FYI, I am encountering the same thing.
Mac OS X - 10.4.11 OOTP Version - 10.0.7 It locks up when I enter EITHER of my licenses in. Just hangs with the OK button greyed out. Will try de-licensing and re-licensing. |

Unlicense then relicense worked. However, I restarted my computer and am back to square one.

Mac OS X 10.4.11 and am having the same issue. Unlicense then relicense works only until you restart your Mac then back to square one.

Me too. I thought the relicense would resolve it, but when restarting this morning, bingo. I don's know if it matters, but I'm using a MacBook Pro. Are others using laptops or desktops when encountering the problem?

I'm having same problem. Restarted this morning and had to relicense for the fourth time. Real pain. I'm using a MacBook Pro with the latest version of Leopard. Is this a laptop problem or are desktop users experiencing issues as well?

I am (almost) certain that the machine doesn't matter, just the OS. That said, I am using a MacBook Pro myself.

Not a Leopard issue (at least not exclusively), as I'm running 10.4.11, and have the problem as well.

Correct. As I said, during the beta there was confusion over whether this was really a bug. With more people experiencing this, I have to think that this confusion will get straightened out.

Here's something you SHOULDN'T do
Don't uninstall and reinstall--as I did. It burns one of your two serial numbers. I don't know yet whether it fixed the problem, but I doubt it. In any case, it was a silly thing to do . . . I'm probably the only one who'd do it.

Yeah, it isn't the hardware. I'm on an iMac.
It isn't limited to restarting the Mac either -- simply putting it to sleep and awakening it causes the issue also. It must have something to do with what happens when a Mac starts or "wakes up". What exactly I have no idea.

You can do this, but you should unlicense the game first! (As you now know!)

I did the same thing, didn't realize you had to have unlicensed it first

Right guys, quick hands up here (virtually speaking of course). How many of you with this issue use DHCP? Does you IP change when you get the "re-enter serial" dialog?
Does anyone get this error with the same IP address? I had an issue before where a changing IP address broke the license, but I thought it was fixed. Maybe its not |

using DHCP. after putting it to sleep then bringing it back on it keeps the same IP address as far as I can tell and the game does not have me reenter license.
after a system restart IP address (IPv4 not IPv6) was still the same, but the game is now asking me to reenter the license. Last edited by CardinalsFan; 06-05-2009 at 07:40 AM. |

Thats a bitter sweet reply, its good coz its not something I thought was fixed, bad coz we still dont have a handle on it.
I am building up a test application to work out whats going wrong. Once it is built I will need a volunteer to run some tests for me. It would be easier if there is a Beta tester around with this problem. Anyone? |
