August 2017 for Oakland
Another winning month saw us go 17-13. A look at our advanced stats shows as a team, we are very pitching heavy apparently. We place top or near the top in hits allowed, BABIP, opponents average and others, however offensively it appears to be a down year. Canha who currently is injured has not had the same power numbers as last year. Moya has also hit for a much lower average this year which has caused problems as he hits in the middle of our lineup. We had to call up Renato Nunez in place of the injured Mark Canha. So what I have done is move Nick Castellanos to left field, and put Nunez at third. He is doing really well at the moment so I am happy to keep him there. Keuchel was cut down with an injury too, forcing me to turn to Kyle Ryan to fill in for the patched up rotation. I was stuck whether to be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline. We are only 5 games out of the wildcard, but with our best pitcher and hitter down for most if not all of the stretch run, it was in the balance. However, I decided we may as well go for it, that's what I built this team for, and we are in our prime most probably. Top Pitcher - Sean Doolittle Top Hitter - Jose Iglesias

2017 Oakland Athletics Review
This season was not exactly what I had hoped for this team. I have to admit, I regret trading away Cueto. We needed another frontline ace to push us over the edge. Although, he had a 17 loss year, the most of his career and an ERA just under 4, so I don't feel too bad. Moving on, we really need to address starting pitching, and hopefully find our 2-3-4 guys to make a playoff push. That will become clear as we move towards free agency, hopefully we can find a diamond in the rough.
Pomeranz was outstanding this season. He was a nice little surprise, and hopefully can reproduce this kind of form, and hopefully make the #2 spot his. Nick was 2 RBI's shy of my prediction, but I was very happy with his production. A now established premiere player and an all star, the first of many more I hope.
