Lost NCAA Player's Rights?

Hi,

I've had the strangest thing happen, and I'm not sure if it is just my unfamiliarity with hockey, or a real issue.

I'm playing through my 11th season as a GM/Coach in Path to Glory, though it's my first with an NHL Franchise. It's currently the 2027/2028 season. When I took on the position, I inherited the 4th overall pick from the 2025/2026 draft, and he was showing in my protected list and unsigned draftees list along with a number of other players. I tried to sign, and he said he wanted to go to college, no problem. A few months later, I went to check up on his NCAA progress, and he was nowhere to be found. I tracked him down through the draft logs, and it says that his NHL rights are "All".

How did I lose his rights? I don't recall receiving a notification, but it seems strange that I would lose him like that. I even traded away a couple of first round draft picks, knowing that I had a couple of great players coming up the ranks.

Is there any help that can be given to this situation?

The NCAA issue was a known bug. It is now fixed and will be corrected in the next update which Jeff mentioned should be some time soon.
