Up 3-0 to lose 4-3! Could not score a run in game 7 losing 1-0.

The game needs an update!

The Frogs lose G1 to Sam Dimas 6-2 in the League Series as the Wyld Stallyns continue their hot play. 99 Walter Johnson outpitched 96 Zack Greinke.

It was Sam Dimas' lefty bats that I was worried about doing most of the damage. 100 Yaz, 99 Brett, Brouthers, POTM Blackmon, gold Ichiro, and Pesky went a combined 11/26 in G1.

CC Sabathia gets moved up to start G2 as a result.

INKO is now 7-1 in the postseason and will play the Los Angeles Rams in the WS. This is kind of disappointing to follow after I was so close to making it 0-1 & done for them but ended up with a PT-Free day of my own instead.

...The INKO Seagulls are a Korean team & went 148-14 in their 1st season. (2028)

Rams up 3-0. (1-0, 4-2, 7-2,...) ,, 2-1. Los Angeles Rams win 4-0, Roids J.oe D.iMaggio Series MVP.

San Dimas has the Frogs on the brink of elimination after a Carl Hubbell 4-hit shutout in G4. It'll be a rematch of G1 with San Dimas' 99 Walter Johnson vs La Crosse's 96 Zack Greinke. The Frogs will have to stave off elimination in 3 consecutive games to bag their 2nd Perfect title.

With slimy backs against the wall, the Frogs effected a 4-3 win on the road in 15 innings. Nomar Garciaparra came through with a go ahead RBI double against Tug McGraw with 2 outs in the 15th inning. Satchel Paige and Johan Santana combined to get 3 outs in the 15th to win it.

The series shifts back to the Lily Pad for G6 and G7 (if necessary).

It's back and forth in P405...

Doha took Game 1 easily, 6-0, as Curt Schilling threw a Maddux (9 innings, 0 runs, 2 hits, 1 walk, 3 Ks, 99 pitches) and Rube Marquard was shelled (2.1 innings, 5 hits, 5 runs, including 2 HRs allowed), but Huntley bounced back with a 4-2 victory in Game 2 that saw Roger Clemens, backed by stellar bullpen work from Lee Smith and Dennis Eckersley, outduel Eppa Rixey.

As the series shifted to Huntley, Game 3 promised an epic Ed Walsh vs Ed Walsh clash, but Huntley had other ideas, knocking Doha's Ed Walsh out in the 1st by scoring 5 runs, punctuated by Roy Campanella's 2-out grand slam. Meanwhile, Huntley's Ed Walsh threw 6.2 no-hit innings, helping the Red Raiders cruise to a 9-1 win and a 2-1 Perfect League Series advantage. But Doha once again silenced Huntley's bats in Game 4, as Pete Alexander shut out the Red Raiders 2-0, negating a fine performance by Don Sutton.

Now, the critical Game 5 looms, featuring a rematch of Game 1 starters Schilling and Marquard. The series returns to Doha after Game 5, but who will have the advantage?

The Game Recap says it all...

"Game 5 was big. So was Rube Marquard."

Bouncing back from 2 straight subpar outings (a combined 4 innings, 10 hits, 10 runs, 4 HRs allowed), Marquard was indeed big when it counted, throwing 6 innings of 6-hit, 1-run ball, besting Curt Schilling (7 innings, 8 hits, 2 runs) and leading Huntley to a critical Game 5 win, 3-1.

After a day of travel and rest, the scheduled starters for Game 6 are Roger Clemens for Huntley and Eppa Rixey for Doha. Can Doha force a Game 7? Or will it be Perfect League championship number 3 for the Red Raiders?

Shocker! team with best record wins it all, back to back championships (silver and gold)

Swept the division series, pushed all the way by the Lumber Company in a 4-3 Sub League Series and then swept the Championship Series, Eric Davis had a 1.102 OPS and 3.7 WAR in the postseason

Jeff McNeil won MVP with Robinson, Davis and Rose 4,5 and 6 in voting

Johan Santana won Pitcher of the year with Soto 3rd, Donohue 7th

Davis won a great glove, no one won a a Platinum Stick

RNGjesus is trying to take a diamond title away from the Blitzkrieg Boppers, as they go from 2-0 up with their best pitchers on the hill for games 3 and 4, to tied 2-2. They're my last hope for any championships this week, as Steelport got routed by a whale in their bronze-level series.

To have 7 teams in the playoffs today and in the end come away with absolutely nothing would be one of the biggest disappointments I've ever experienced in this game, and I'd prefer not to have to deal with it...so a pair of quiet wins in games 5 and 6 with Whit Wyatt and Len Barker would be preferable.

Frogs lose G6 9-1 at home as they're vanquished on Halloween in 2040. The Frogs were 0-3 at home in the PL Series. Too much Stan Coveleski in G6 for the Frogs to handle.

Congrats to the Sam Dimas Wyld Stallyns on their 1st PL level title. They really earned it. Starting as wild card team they defeated the 102-win Malibu Waverunners, and took out the 120-win Battery Park City Tamps in the divisional round in 5 games. They proceeded to beat the 117-win Carmel-By-The-Sea Otters in 6 games in the Sub-league series (3 one-run wins) before taking the 110-win Frogs down in 6 games.

On a positive note, the voters took notice of Zack Greinke in awarding him the Cy Young award over...well...Cy Young. Chipper Jones and Nomar Garciaparra win "Great Bat" awards. Garry Maddox and Mike Trout take home "Great Glove" awards as well.

Game 6...

Huntley's Eric Gagne took the mound in the bottom of the 9th inning with the Red Raiders leading the P405 Series 3-2 and the game 4-3. Josh Gibson led off with a single, but Gagne managed to induce a fly out from Honus Wagner. Huntley was 2 outs away from Perfect League championship number 3.

But then...

Ty Cobb doubled. Josh Gibson raced home to tie the score at 4. Cobb, ever the wily baserunner, took advantage of the throw home to gamble on making it to third base. The throw home was cut off--but Cobb was safe at third.

Walter Johnson, shifted from the rotation to the bullpen for the playoffs, was summoned to preserve the tie. But on a 2-2 count, Luke Appling grounded a single through the infield, scoring Ty Cobb and setting off a massive celebration in Doha, for there would be a Game 7.

Ed Walsh vs Ed Walsh: The Rematch. Winner take all. Can Doha complete the comeback? Or will Huntley push past the heartbreak of being 2 outs away and win it all?

RNGjesus tried to take it from us, but Whit Wyatt and Len Barker told that <censored> to go <censored> itself. Blitzkrieg Boppers take their 5th championship, which now gives them one in each level. They go up to perfect for next week, ready to begin a quest to complete their trophy cabinet.

However long it takes, we will do it. We will win a perfect league championship. I will not be denied. (Hey, ho!) Let's go!

And the P405 Champion is...

...the Huntley Red Raiders!

In a Game 7 for the ages, Huntley held the Doha Oilers scoreless in their own home park, winning Game 7 on the road 2-0 and claiming their third Perfect League championship! Ed Walsh, unsurprisingly named series MVP, pitched 7 shutout innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2. Lee Smith and Walter Johnson kept the shutout going through the 8th, and when Game 6 goat Eric Gagne once again struggled in the 9th, allowing a double to Hank Aaron and a single to Josh Gibson to give Doha runners on first and third with nobody out, Vida Blue saved the game and the series by striking out Honus Wagner and inducing a ground ball from Willie Mays that the Red Raiders turned into a game- and series-winning 6-4-3 double play!

Huntley scored the first run of the game in a most unusual way. In the top of the 5th, with runners on first and second and 1 out, Carl Yastrzemski took off for third. The throw from Josh Gibson was wild, and Yaz scampered home to give the Red Raiders a 1-0 lead. Yaz would strike again in the top of the 9th in a more traditional way, taking Tom Seaver deep for a leadoff solo home run. Thanks to Vida Blue's heroics, the 2-0 lead held up.

"Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you make your own luck," Huntley manager JasonC23 was quoted as saying in the jubilant clubhouse. "We got lucky a few times, but mostly we did the right things by being prepared for each game and playing the game the way it's meant to be played."

Congratulations and thanks for the summary. I have been away all week without my computer and you have been the only source of information on how my teams were doing. It looks like it was a heck of a series.

Season 22 was pretty special. The Redlegs made it back to Perfect, and the newly-renamed Gold Sox made it back to Silver after dropping their theme and just going with the best non-Live cards I can afford.

Now to stay in perfect, and keep moving on up...

You're welcome--and it was! Download the box scores from the Results thread, if you can (http://challenge.ootpdevelopments.co..._finals.html); it was as back-and-forth of a series as I've ever participated in--every time one team seized the momentum and seemed like it had a clear path to victory, the other seized it right back. It was a privilege facing off with you; here's hoping we can do it again in another league in the future!

NYC Subway Rats season ended in spectacular fashion in the D353 wildcard game.
The game goes into extra innings and the Pittsburgh Pirates take a one run lead in the top of the 10th inning, the Rats get the tying and winning runs on base in the bottom of the inning with no one out...
Triple play ends it! If you're gonna lose whatta way to do it.
Classic :-D
