Farewell to the CDL

The Cooperstown Diamond Legends (CDL) began 15 years ago (February 2001) as a OOTP historical league. Since that time it has survived & thrived through 10 OOTP versions for 110 fake OOTP seasons, one of the two longest lasting OOTP on-line leagues in existence. That existence will soon end though as the league has decided to close it's doors for good after the current season - that's the 2078 season in OOTP years. Thanks to all the OOTP forum posters who have been past or present CDL GM's, it was a great ride:-)!

That is a long run, the BJHL (formerly GGNL) has been running since '03.
Just wondering, is it an interest decision or a file stability decision?

Basically an interest decision - owner interest was always good, but getting enough qualified admin/commish help to assist long term is always a challenge. The league file is perfectly stable so no concerns there, though with 110 years of history the files sizes can get pretty big

I joined the CDL midway through the 2075 season. Although I will have only run a team for 3.5 seasons, I was able to get the Detroit Tigers to the playoffs last year. In my experience, it has been a very competitive, fun and very well run league. If anything reading on the CDL site the memories from current and past GMs, it solidifies how great a game OOTP is and it continues to get better.
